Turns out a packet of lettuce seeds makes a pretty good icebreaker.

With this nonprofit outreach campaign, we wanted to practice what we preach. Instead of a flat postcard explaining what we do, we built a dimensional mailer that opens into a pop-up harvest scene, full of warm golds and greens, with real print samples tucked inside and a seed packet that reads "Let us (lettuce) help you grow."

Every piece played a role. The sample appeals showed exactly what each package feels like in hand. The QR card led to appeal ideas and resources. The seeds gave people a reason to smile and keep it on their desk instead of tossing it.

Bold color, creative packaging, and a little humor are some of our favorite ways to make a mail piece worth opening. It’s the kind of experience you can’t replicate online.

You probably can't remember a single ad you scrolled past yesterday. But you do remember that magazine you got in the mail even if you threw it out.

Neuroscience research from Millward Brown and Kantar found that people show stronger brand recall after seeing print ads than digital ones. The physical act of holding something engages more of the brain, which makes the memory easier to retrieve later. It also helps that print reaches you when you are not distracted by other content on the same screen.

This matters when thinking about your next marketing plan. Digital gets you reach and speed. Print gets you retention. Often, the campaigns that work best are using both.

It's officially fall, and for print and mail companies that means things get very busy, very fast.

Right now, the shop is preparing to be filled up with gala invitations, event signage, year-end appeal letters, and the first rounds of holiday packaging. October through December becomes our busiest time of year, and we love the energy it brings.

If your fourth quarter is starting to take shape, now is a good time to get your dates down and finalize your files. Our lead times do stretch this time of year as the shop fills up, so getting on the schedule early makes a real difference.

Wishing everyone a great fall and successful Q4!🍂

Appeal campaign season is almost here!

Our print floor is about to be full of nonprofit appeal letters, sharing real stories and meaningful work they are doing in the community. We love to be a part of it.

If your team is planning a year end appeal, now's the time to start. Design, presorting, personalization, and printing usually need more lead time than people expect, especially during the busiest season.

Here are some of our favorites to get ideas flowing.

Great food and great company.

Olivia made her famous chicken tinga for everyone, and it did not disappoint. It was so delicious the whole crew went back for seconds.

Multiple vendors, tight timelines, and a million details are problems we see often with nonprofit organizations. If that sounds like your last campaign, you’re not alone. It’s a big part of why we first began working with nonprofits because we saw an opportunity to help simplify fundraising efforts by offering everything in one print partner:

âś” On time mailings
âś” Easy personalization
âś” Setup-ready signage

A simplified campaign means more time and energy to focus on your mission.

What’s the biggest hurdle in your appeal or gala fundraising campaigns?

The current trend in marketing is going back to print and mail as the online world gets more and more crowded.

If you've been on the fence about adding direct mail to your mix, this is worth noticing.

You might not expect your local print shop to make shelves like these.

But branded retail displays are one of the most effective ways to capture attention right where buyers make decisions.

We love pushing the boundaries of what custom print can do.
