Our ShoeRide XY visualizations provide a 2D representation of how your ground contact maps to the bottom of the shoe.
Each step within the selected step range is graphed, with the color representing the stance velocity at that location, allowing you to see just how smooth the transition is from initial to final contact in a single glance!

🔵TRANSLATIONAL SWING VELOCITY🟡

It shows the velocity of the foot during the swing in two components:
XY) forward
Z) vertical movement
The relationship between the greatest vertical oscillation when the right foot begins the flight phase and the greatest vertical velocity at the beginning of the oscillation can be observed with right foot.

Biomechanical assessment of the effect of gait retraining at the same speed (9 km/h), same running shoes and same condition without insoles:
1) less collision
2) less pronation and pronation velocity
3) less vertical peak reaction force
4) greater distribution of the impact area

RunScribe measures Pronation Excursion, which is the total range of angular movement (in degrees) as the foot rolls inward between footstrike and the point of maximum pronation. It is estimated by measuring the rearfoot angle during ground contact while running and/or walking. Changing pronation values could indicate break down of shoe support, or be an indicator of injury risk.

It seems that contact time is important for Leg Spring Stiffness (LSS)
In fatigue, the longer the contact time, the lower LSS.

SHOCK METRICS:

Shock values are helpful in assessing injury or overtraining risk. Runners can use shock values:

✅As an indicator of overall stress during a run or over a training period - shock values can help manage the risk of overtraining.

✅In assessing impacts of terrain and pace on their shock.

✅To provide a view into potential risks that may result from changes in training or gear.

The following image shows the estimation of the vertical peak ground reaction force (PVGRF) with the IMU RunScribe portable sensor running and walking. As an example of a use case, if the person weighs 70kg, they would generate 210kg of force against the ground in each stride running and 84kg walking. In addition, this force is performed in the middle support phase, which makes it the focus of biomechanical analysis.
