Our Vandal cybersecurity team took home the Spokane Mayors Cup, competing against 18 teams from around the region in the capture the flag cybersecurity competition!

Computer engineering senior Chadwick Goodall and computer science seniors Jon Kopf, Kyle LeDoux and Robert Walko completed 40 challenges involving many different aspects of cybersecurity, including secure communication techniques and accessing personal information.

“We all knew each other’s strengths,” said LeDoux, of Boise. “From classes at U of I, you get a lot more practical application compared to other universities. We already had a lot of knowledge built up about how to go about each challenge. Having this win on our resume will be very valuable.”
