Dale Earnhardt Inc. cars always had a common paint scheme design for all of their cars, with the colors changing to match the sponsors. A little while back I thought, what would I have done if I was tasked with making a common design for their cars. I went back and made some “what-if” designs of their cars from around 2004.

I recently recreated my brother, Jeff Fox’s old 19 car for iRacing. This is a clean looking car, one that was a lot of fun to recreate!

Sometimes I like to do what if’s, such as what would an old driver/sponsor/team combo look like if it was modern day. This one is Mark Martin’s #6 Valvoline Ford. And, of course, I had to see what the car would look like with centered numbers. I added contingencies like the old cars had, all of them being the suppliers of the next-gen car’s parts.

Made a quick little drawing this evening of my uncle Wayne’s #17 car. I had never drawn this one before, and thought it would be a fun one to try! This one is a little bit smaller than I’m used to, drawn on a 4x6 sketch book.

For anybody on iRacing that is interested, go check out my Trading Paints! I have plenty of paint schemes on there, from recreations, throwbacks, concepts, and even a set of cars from my local track from 1990. I’m always adding new stuff. I hope everyone enjoys them!

I thought I’d try out a Lowe's/Ally/Carvana mashup for Jimmie Johnson’s final race with Legacy Motor Club at the 2027 Daytona 500.

This concept design mixes Jimmie’s 2006-08 Lowe’s car, his 2020 Ally car, and a couple of his 2023-26 carvana cars all together.
