This is an e-mail we just sent to a customer having connection issues. We can not stress enough: VeeSee Boxes are illegal streaming devices and based on what we've now discovered may open you up to FEDERAL PROSECUTION for being part of the distribution of copyrighted material. Listen, we don't have a pony in this show - we don't make money from streaming services or streaming content. We want our customers to be safe, secure and have a quality internet and streaming experience.
VeeSee boxes are basically a distributed content delivery system for video media. This means if your VeeSee box connects to a bad connection on the other end, your streaming will suffer.
-----
I looked into your connection concerns further and determined your VeeSee Box is causing issues with your connection. If you look at the attached screenshot you can see where it is using data 24 hours a day 7 days a week, which is abnormal for a streaming device.
This is more inline with a device infected with some kind of malware or virus. When we looked at where the traffic was going or coming from we observed the VeeSee box connecting to other devices on the Verizon Wireless network, Comcast, TDS, Starlink and a host of other networks. These are all other residential connections.
Devices on your local network infected with malware can steal banking and credit card information or other sensitive information that may traverse your network.
The VeeSee Box works by sending illegal video content out in a distributed format to other devices. This means that your VeeSee Box is most likely also contributing to the illegal video distribution network which could potentially make you liable in FEDERAL COURT for distribution of copyrighted content.
Our advice is to immediately stop using this device and subscribe to a legitimate legal streaming service for your media content.
