Six months ago, a roofing contractor in a small Missouri town told me he was done.

He'd been with us for about 60 days, leads were starting to pick up, but it wasn't moving fast enough for him. He'd had bad experiences with agencies before. Felt like he was throwing money into a black hole.

Honestly? I understood where he was coming from.
He had another agency ready to take over. All he had to do was say the word.

I asked him to give us 30 more days. Not because I was desperate to keep the account — but because I genuinely believed what we were building was about to turn a corner. The Google Business Profile work was gaining traction. His reviews were climbing. The LSA account was finally dialed in.

He stayed.

Fast forward to last week. He messaged me and said, "Trevor, I need you to pause everything. I can't take any more jobs right now."
That's a problem I love helping people have.

Here's what I want you to take from this:
Most marketing doesn't fail because the strategy is wrong. It fails because people pull the plug too early — right before the momentum kicks in.

If you're an HVAC, roofing, or electrical business owner who's been burned before and you're skeptical about whether this stuff actually works in smaller markets… I get it. I've heard that story a lot.
But I've also seen what happens when you stay the course with the right system.

I used to be the guy who figured everything out himself.
New service to offer? I'd research it, build the process, test it, run it.
Problem with a client account? I'd dig in personally and fix it.
That felt like being a good leader. It wasn't.
It was being a bottleneck.
---
I'm reading a book right now called *Who Not How* — and it's messing with me in the best way.
The core idea is simple: stop asking "how do I do this?" and start asking "who is the right person to handle this?"
Sounds obvious. But if you're wired like me — high standards, you know exactly how something should be done — letting go feels risky. What if they don't do it the way I would?
Here's what I'm realizing though.
The right "who" doesn't just free up your time. They often do it *better* than you would. Because it's their lane. It's where they're sharp.
Me holding onto everything wasn't protecting quality. It was slowing down the people around me who were ready to carry more.
---
So right now, I'm doing a real audit of my week. Every task on my plate gets a question:
Is this mine to do — or mine to lead?
That's a different standard. And it changes everything.
---
If you're running a trades business and you're still wearing every hat, maybe that's the question worth sitting with too.
I'm happy to talk through what that looks like practically. Book a free 15-minute call at convirs.com.

There are two kinds of agencies out there.

The first one takes your money, sends you a fancy report full of numbers that don't mean anything, and disappears when you start asking hard questions.

The second one treats your business like it actually matters. Answers your calls. Tells you the truth even when it's uncomfortable. And doesn't stop working until the results are real.
Convirs is built to be the second one.

Here's why — and I don't talk about this a lot, but it's worth saying.
Running a business as a Christian changes how I show up. Not in a way that's loud or preachy. Just in the way I work.

Colossians 3:23 says: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord."

That verse is the foundation of everything I do here. Every campaign I build. Every call I get on. Every client I take on.
It means I don't cut corners. It means I don't oversell and underdeliver. It means if something isn't working, I tell you — and we fix it together.

It also means I genuinely care whether your HVAC company or roofing business actually grows. Not just whether I get paid.
That's not a marketing angle. That's just how I was raised to work.
If you're tired of agencies that treat you like a number, and you want someone who actually gives a damn about your results —

Here's two tree service companies in the same town.

Same services. Same area. Both been around for years.

One has a website that actually looks like the business deserves the job — clear services, easy to call, built to convert.

The other one? A page from 2019 and a phone number buried somewhere.

Guess which one gets the call when a storm rolls through at 10pm?
That's exactly why I was glad to help J&D Tree Service launch their new site at https://www.janddtreeservice.pro/

20+ years in business. 500+ jobs completed. Licensed, insured, and serving Barry County and Southwest Missouri with the kind of work that speaks for itself.

They built the reputation. Now their website backs it up. 🔧

If you only have $500 to spend on marketing, digital's probably not your move right now.

I know that's not what an agency is supposed to say. But I'd rather be straight with you than take your money and leave you disappointed.

Here's the reality — digital marketing done right takes real budget and real consistency. LSAs, a website that converts, reviews that build over months. None of that happens on a shoestring.

With $500, here's what I'd actually do: yard signs in every yard you work, or get your truck wrapped if you can swing it. One-time investments that keep working for you. People see your truck every day — that matters in a small town.

Digital's a lot like the gym. You don't show up once and expect results. The businesses hitting 30–60+ booked calls in 90 days? They committed and stayed the course.

Now — once you're ready to invest seriously, digital is one of the most powerful tools a trades business has, especially in smaller markets where most of your competitors are barely online.

But the foundation has to be there first. Budget included.

So ask yourself honestly: am I ready to commit, or am I hoping for a shortcut? No shame in the answer — just be honest with yourself.

If you're ready to do this right, book a free 15-minute call at convirs.com or send me a DM. No pitch, no pressure.

I talked to a guy a few months back who almost didn't hire us.
Cash was tight. Work was slow. He kept saying, "I'll wait until things pick up a little."

I get it. That's a real feeling.

But here's what I told him: waiting for money to show up before you invest in getting customers... is exactly why money doesn't show up.

He pulled the trigger anyway.

Six weeks later, he was clearing $500–$800 a day. Booked solid. Turning away work he didn't want.

Same guy. Same skills. Different visibility.

That's the only thing that changed.

Now I'm not saying go into debt or do something reckless. That's not what I'm about.

But if you're an HVAC tech, handyman, roofer, or lawn guy grinding through slow seasons wondering why the phone's quiet — the problem usually isn't your work.
It's that nobody can find you.
That's fixable.

Send me a DM! I would love to chat.

Got some feedback this week that stopped me mid-scroll.

A handyman we worked with said he'd recommend Convirs to anyone — lawn care, tree removal, handyman work, you name it.
He mentioned three things specifically:

The communication. The weekly updates. How easy we made the whole process feel.

Here's the thing — that's exactly what we're going for.

A lot of agencies take your money and go quiet. You're left wondering what's actually happening.

We think you deserve better than that.

Weekly updates. Real numbers. A team that actually picks up the phone.

That feedback reminded me why I started this.

Here's something most agencies won't tell you — probably why a lot of you have been burned before.

We can get your phone ringing. We can fill your inbox with leads. But we cannot close the sale for you.

Here's what I see: a business owner signs on, leads start rolling in, then a few weeks later — "the leads aren't converting." So I dig in. Usually I find a lead came in Tuesday afternoon, nobody called back until Wednesday morning, no answer, and that was the end of it. One attempt. Done.

Here's the truth about follow-up in 2026: most people won't pick up the first time. They're busy, they called three other companies too. Studies show it takes 5 to 8 touchpoints before someone commits. Five to eight.

That means you need a real system — you, your office person, or a CRM with automated texts. Something working those leads after they land.

My job is to generate the opportunity. Your job is to convert it. The businesses that win aren't always the ones with the fanciest trucks — they're the ones who follow up fast and stay persistent.

If your close rate's struggling, let's talk. Book a free 15-minute call at convirs.com, or just DM me.

Big news at Convirs — we're officially doing custom software now, and I am genuinely fired up about this one.

Here's the thing I see over and over: you're paying for five different tools, none of which talk to each other, and you're still doing half the work by hand. A booking app that doesn't sync with your calendar. A customer list stuck in a spreadsheet. You build a workaround, train your team on it, and then the tool changes something and you're back to square one.

I call it the duct-tape stack. And I'm done watching good businesses get held hostage by it.

So we're building custom web software — booking systems, automation tools, integrations that actually connect the stuff you already use — built around how your business really runs, not some generic template you have to bend yourself into.

And this isn't me dabbling in something new. Before Convirs, I spent 9.5 years in fintech, 5 of those as a senior software engineer building tools that handled real money at scale. Strict requirements, zero tolerance for breaking. When your booking system goes down on a Saturday, that's real dollars walking out the door — I get that, and I build like it matters.

Fixed price. No surprises. No monthly software fees stacking up forever. You own what we build, period.

If you've got a process held together with tape and good intentions, let's fix it. Free 30-minute call — no pitch, no pressure.
Comment or DM me if you want these results too.

Got a text from one of my roofing clients this morning that honestly made my day.

He got a lead — nothing unusual, we've been generating leads for him consistently. But this one was different. When I dug into where it came from, it traced back to an AI search platform. Not Google.
An AI-generated response recommended his business, and someone called him directly off of it.

That might not sound like a big deal. But we're in the very early days of AI search changing how people find local service businesses. Tools like ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews are already answering "who's the best roofer near me" — and pulling from specific signals to make that call.

Most business owners have no idea this is happening. Most agencies aren't talking about it either.

This client's a small roofing company in a town of about 10,000. Not huge. Not a massive budget. He just trusted the process, and now he's showing up where his competitors aren't even looking yet.

If you run an HVAC, roofing, or electrical company and want an honest read on where you stand — book a free call at convirs.com, or DM me.
