Mr. Cuban is supporting a bill introduced in February “Break Up Big Medicine Act” that would prevent a health insurer or pharmacy benefit manager from owning a provider or management services organization. This year 23.1 million customers selected or re-enrolled in health insurance coverage. In 2025 CMS restarted identifying and removing improper enrollments and nearly 1.5 million people were found to be ineligible or enrolled without their authorization. Compared to 2025, more customers selected bronze or gold plans compared to silver plans with more customers choosing agent or broker assistance.

This year’s Residency match had an increase in applicants and positions up 1.8% from last year. The largest group matched was U.S. MD seniors followed by U.S. DO seniors, U.S. Citizen international medical graduates with the lowest match among non-U.S. citizen IMGs. Internal Medicine offered and filled more positions along with Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, and Psychiatry. There was a decline in Family Medicine with more positions unfilled.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has adopted a standard for health care claims and attachments and electronic signatures. This rule will be HIPAA complaint and eliminate the need for mailing and faxing additional health information for prior authorizations. The president of the American Hospital Association Rick Pollack told the committee that in 2025, hospitals spent over $43 billion to collect from insurers for care already provided. Hospital spending on medical supplies and equipment rose 9.9% and drug expenses 13.6% last year. The 340B Access Act is unsustainable, and full site-neutral payment for routing outpatient services is recommended. Also discussed were increased employer payments, decreased physician payments, and hospital consolidation.

On March 11,2026 the Florida Senate passed HB 4043 to dissolve the Citrus County Hospital Board by September 30. The dissolution was due to a legal dispute with the Florida Health Care Administration over alleged Medicaid over payments.
