Last Wednesday we took Missoula to Bozeman for the Montana AI Hackathon at The Baxter. People showed up with a laptop and a problem and built AI tools together. The amount of entrepreneurial spirit and innovation in Montanans is inspiring.

Thank you to Speridian Technologies, KOA, and the Montana High Tech Business Alliance for putting it on with us.

Today marks 1 year since we officially started. One year of CubCloud AI.

A year ago we started with one founder and one belief: Montana's AI future should be owned by Montana.

Today, 25+ of us are building it. Enterprise GPUs in service, two Missoula sites, a podcast studio, 20+ partners, and 35 events across the state.

Local compute. Open source. Sovereign. Built by Montanans, for Montana and beyond.

Thank you to our team, our partners, and everyone who bet on us early.

Year two is bigger, better, and more sovereign.

Everyone in AI infrastructure is saying "sovereign" right now. Most of them mean a rack in your state run by a company somewhere else.

We mean hardware we own in Missoula, models running on our own machines, and a building you can walk into and meet the people who touch your data.

I wrote up five reasons it matters for Montana: the CLOUD Act, tribal data sovereignty, keeping the money in state, Montana's Right to Compute and privacy laws, and building to the size of the town.

CubCloud AI is heading to Bozeman.

On Wednesday, October 14, we're teaming up with Speridian Technologies, KOA, and the Montana High Tech Business Alliance for a one-day Montana AI Hackathon at The Baxter.

Bring a laptop and a problem worth solving. You'll build an AI-powered solution alongside developers, founders, students, and industry folks from across the state, and compete for prizes. Every skill level is welcome, and we've got the snacks covered.

Montana doesn't have to wait for someone else to build the tools. We can build them here, with people who know this place.

📅 Wed, Oct 14 | 12:30 to 5:00 PM MDT
📍 The Baxter, 105 W. Main St, Bozeman
⏳ RSVP by Sept 30. Space is limited.

Welcome to CubCloud AI, Dusty!

We're excited to have Dusty joining the team as our newest Development Intern.

As CubCloud continues to grow, so does the group of people helping us build what comes next: software, infrastructure, community partnerships, and practical AI solutions rooted right here in Montana.

Our internship program is about more than watching from the sidelines. We want young talent working on real projects, solving real problems, and getting hands-on experience building the future alongside us.

Glad to have you on the team, Dusty. Time to build.

By Montana. For Montana.

KPAX talked to Drew about our Cybercab application.

“If you can do something and save Montanans money, when money is so tight right now, I think we should do that.”

CubCloud applied to operate Tesla Cybercabs as CubCab from Missoula. Pending Tesla’s review.
