Check with your local government about sandbag distribution. Edinburg was doing some today. Mission did bags today and is doing it tomorrow and Wednesday.

Whatever you do, be careful out there.

🚨 WEATHER UPDATE FROM THE CITY OF MISSION 🚨

The City of Mission Emergency Management team is actively coordinating with local, county, and state partners as we prepare for the severe weather expected to impact our area.

The National Weather Service has placed our region under a Flood Watch, and forecasts indicate some areas could receive up to 9 inches of rainfall throughout the afternoon and overnight hours. Heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding, particularly in low-lying areas and locations with poor drainage.

Our emergency personnel, public works crews, police officers, firefighters, and first responders are prepared and ready to respond if conditions worsen.

We encourage all residents to remain weather aware, avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rainfall, and never drive through flooded roadways.

We are preparing for the worst while hoping for the best.

Please continue following the City of Mission’s official social media channels for updates, road closures, safety information, and emergency resources as conditions develop.

Stay alert. Stay informed. Stay safe, Mission. đź’™
