Today, SRT is the state’s largest telecommunications cooperative, serving more than 27,000 residential and business customers. We invested in 9,200 miles of fiber optics that criss-cross and connect an area encompassing 5,587 square miles, 10 counties, four districts represented by a Board of 12 Directors, and 160 employees — all coming together to form community. That’s what it’s all about.

We got lucky and just missed the rain on Thursday, giving us pleasant weather to lace up for the Foundation for Rural Service 5K. The run/walk is a fundraiser for FRS scholarships and community grants - both of which had recipients in our area in recent years!

Special thanks to Blissful Bee Juicery for the refreshing smoothies on-the-go for all 30 of us. Yum!

In 1952, SRT purchased our first phone exchange, the Martin Telephone Company with 82 subscribers.

Your own hometown - whether it's Martin or any of the other communities in our service area - isn’t our latest business venture. We were born and raised here, still serving members who joined SRT with that Martin exchange so long ago. That’s proven staying power, established for your community, owned by our members, and guided by our mission to connect you to a life well lived.

Watch the rest of the year as we ReMEMBER When. After all, there's no history without our members!

It was an incredible morning at Minot State University for Futurepalooza 2026. Hundreds of area high school students were at the MSU Dome exploring career opportunities, and a few of our own local experts from SRT shared an inside look at what we do behind the scenes. It was great to connect with the next generation of local talent.
