We are super excited to be sponsoring the lovely as a speaker for this year’s The Photo Cookout. She is doing amazing things in her business right now and has such wisdom to share!

If you are unaware of what is, it’s a photography conference developed for Black photographers and is a place where everyone is welcome. By attending, you will be able to hear from incredibly talented business people and photographers, speakers that maybe aren’t as well known in the photography community at large because of disenfranchisement in our industry.

This year’s conference is in New Orleans, from October 8-10th. There are even scholarships available if you want to attend! Anatomy of a $7,000 sale:

Saw this member sale come through recently and thought I’d break down what’s included in a sale that breaks the $5k mark.
(I’ve covered up anything that could reveal the photographer or their client.)

So let’s take a look:

Subtotal was $6,900. After taxes and shipping fees, $7,577.88.

There were no discounts applied to this order (no studio credit or anything like that).

The order consisted of:

✅A 3-image framed gallery (two 16×16s, one 20×24 - ) - $3,200

✅ One framed statement image - $1,650 (24×30 - )

✅ Two sets of 3 accordion books from - $300

✅ A 15-spread photo album from - $1750

Total Costs: $1,822
Net Profit: $5,177

So there you go, 4 pieces of artwork for the wall, a couple sets of accordion books and an album = $5100 in profit.

The takeaway?

It doesn’t have to be complex! Pretty standard stuff here, priced and sold well.

One of my absolute favorite parts about being on the road fulltime is being able to meet photographers as we pass through their area. Thanks for the great conversations, , I’m so glad to know you!
