Had a client whose Dell laptop battery wouldn't charge but the computer boots up perfectly and works without a problem. After a couple of hours troubleshooting I narrowed it down to the charger. A brand new charger resolved the charging issue.

Faulty chargers can damage your battery as well as motherboard. Be carefully how you handle it
