🔐 New FAR CUI Rule Proposal: A Major Step Toward Standardizing Protection of Controlled Unclassified Information 🔐

On January 17, 2025, the FAR Council proposed an important amendment to establish uniform requirements for safeguarding Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) across federal agencies. This proposed FAR CUI Rule is designed to address current inconsistencies in managing sensitive federal information, creating a more streamlined and secure approach for federal contractors. 💼✨

📌 Key Highlights of the Proposed Rule:
⚫ Uniform policies for marking, safeguarding, and disposing of CUI
⚫ Adoption of NARA’s CUI registry for safeguarding controls
⚫ New Standard Form (SF ###) to guide contractors on handling CUI

This rule aligns with NIST SP 800-171 and sets a consistent baseline across all federal contracts, ensuring that contractors and agencies work with the same standards to protect sensitive data. 🚀

For DoD contractors, subcontractors, and MSPs, staying on top of these changes is crucial to ensure continued compliance with evolving federal regulations.
