Everyone thinks the takeoff is more interesting. Maybe, it's the pause.

The human connection is what makes meaning legible. The importance of the in-person conversation may be the antidote we all need.

We teach AI for a living, so this might be a strange thing for us to say. But we get it.

AI is everywhere and it can be a lot.

We don’t think you need to keep up with all of it. You can be curious about AI and still question it. You can go at your own pace. And, some of it simply may not be for you.

You’re allowed to take what’s useful and leave the rest.

AI is moving quickly, and one of the things we hear most often is some version of: I know I should understand this better. I just don’t know where to start.

That’s part of why we’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to simply give people a place to begin.

We’ve created a new space for that. We’ll start by sending you a few practical things you can try with AI right away.

We've created the 'AI Orientation for Young Adults' - a live, 2-hour virtual workshop for young adults. It's a direct response to parents who are grappling with how to even approach this technology.

Along with covering what AI can and can't do, we'll talk about how to think critically about it.

Sarah and I spent the morning with Chris Hrapsky from KARE 11 in the studio. I sat on a stool with the lights pointed straight at my face, which turned out to be the hot seat in more ways than one.

We covered AI ethics, hallucinations, and what good practice looks like when a tool will hand you something false with total confidence. The thread running through all of it was judgment.

AI can draft and suggest. Deciding whether the result is true and whether it belongs in your work is still yours to do. Your thinking is the asset. The tool is a tool.

Thanks to Chris for the questions he asked.

We look forward to the segment airing on KARE 11 in August.
