Digital Bridge

Digital Bridge Non-Profit e-Waste Recycler. Refurbishing old tech and putting it in new hands.

Digital Bridge works to open up new opportunities to impoverished people in our local and global communities who have been left behind in technology. By working with local nonprofits to provide technical service and computer lab donations, we’ve implemented over 20 computer labs spanning across three continents. Our impact has reached as far as improving the quality of education in rural Kenya to

providing tools to find employment in inner city Milwaukee. We believe that poverty can be further diminished through technology access from the goodwill of partnered nonprofits and large entity sponsors. At Digital Bridge, our goal is to turn one person’s trash into another’s treasure. In the spirit of the open source movement, we have made our processes available so others can join our mission and help us create a better world.

We’re excited to launch a new partnership with Experience Milwaukee: **Recycled by Digital Bridge.**

From time to time, Steve Glynn will share stories about the work happening at Digital Bridge and “recycle” some of his favorite tech stories from the past. Because good stories deserve a second life, too.

The series kicks off with a conversation with our own Michael Regione about how Digital Bridge is giving technology a second life and putting it to work for people in our community.

Check out the first installment!

Last night was a powerful reminder of what access to technology can mean.

Digital Bridge partnered with Sojourner Family Peace Center to provide 100 refurbished laptops to women and families receiving services there. Throughout the evening, we heard how having a laptop at home will help with everything from accessing resources and searching for jobs to pursuing education and, especially, doing homework.

We met some bright young students who are excited for the school year to begin, and there was a lot of joy in the room.

We’re grateful to Sojourner for trusting us to be part of such a meaningful evening and to the Wisconsin Public Service Commission, whose Nonprofit Access Grant helped make it possible.

This is what giving technology a second life is all about.

What a great morning celebrating some of the best and brightest technology leaders in Wisconsin at the Wisconsin ORBIE Awards!

Digital Bridge was proud to be there to recognize the CIOs and technology leaders who are driving innovation, leading change and making an impact across their organizations and our communities.

Congratulations to all of this year’s finalists and winners. We loved seeing so many familiar faces, making some new connections and celebrating the incredible technology leadership we have right here in Wisconsin.

Thanks to WisconsinCIO for bringing this community together and giving these leaders the recognition they deserve.

Yesterday morning was a good reminder of why we love being part of Milwaukee’s business community.

Digital Bridge was proud to sponsor the Milwaukee Business Journal Power Breakfast, where we caught up with old friends, made some new ones and had plenty of great conversations about e-waste, technology and community impact.

We also left inspired by Briggs & Stratton CEO Kristina Cerniglia and the story of the comeback she’s leading at this iconic global company. It was a powerful conversation about leadership, transformation and what it takes to build for the future.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hello, talk tech or learn a little more about Digital Bridge. It was a great morning with a great community.

Another Summerfest Tech is in the books, and we're heading home with two full bins of donated laptops, monitors, phones, cables, and other electronics that will be securely refurbished or responsibly recycled.

A huge thank you to the team at the Westin Hotels & Resorts Milwaukee, and especially to Lena DeLaet and her incredible team at Summerfest TechAI. Your energy and passion create an event that brings together one of the Midwest's most engaged technology communities.

We enjoyed reconnecting with old friends, meeting new ones, and having meaningful conversations about sustainability, responsible technology management, and reducing e-waste.

To everyone who stopped by our collection station, donated equipment, shared your organization's challenges, or simply took a moment to say hello, thank you. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you again next year.
