Supporting Local, One Bite at a Time 🌭🌭🌭

Took a trip down memory lane tonight and supported another local business and customer — Laskaris Restaurant, a Lewistown classic since 1921!

Because at High Tech Hobbies, we believe community keeps us connected — whether it’s over tech talk or a plate of hot dogs and fries. 💛

❤️ Making a difference in so many meaningful ways. We love our county, we love our fellow small businesses, and we love our friends who show up with their whole hearts.

Kevin & Christa — and their amazing team — are the kind of people who don’t just talk about community… they build it. They lift people up, they show up, and they make an impact that ripples far beyond one event.

We were proud to attend the LCRC Race for Cancer, and seeing their post today — $37.8K raised — just reinforces what we already know: when good people pour love into a mission, lives change.

Grateful for friends like them. Grateful for a community that cares. Grateful to witness this kind of kindness in action.

Why We Support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Some stories stay quiet for years… until you realize they’re the reason you fight so hard for the good in the world.

In 2000, Nate was just 21 years old when he learned the truth: the cancer that had been silently growing inside him for years wasn’t just serious—it was stage 4 testicular cancer. It was days away from reaching his brain. It has spread throughout his body... his lymph nodes, his lungs, kidneys and liver. Only days away from being labeled inoperable. Days away from catastrophic.

But one doctor—one person who took the time to truly see him—reviewed his records, understood the magnitude of what was happening, and stepped in on Good Friday in 2000. He took Nate under his wing. He fought for him.

And because of that, 26 years later, Nate is here.
He’s alive.
He’s a husband.
He’s a dad to two incredible kids.
He’s a business owner whose mission is rooted in service and community.

High Tech Hobbies exists because Nate survived.
Our family exists because Nate survived.
Our purpose exists because Nate survived.

That’s why we support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital—because no child, no teen, no young adult should face cancer alone. Because families deserve hope. Because research saves lives long before anyone realizes it.

This cause is personal.
This mission is personal.
And we’re proud to stand with St. Jude.

If you haven't been to LCRC, change your plans and visit them tomorrow night for Glow Bingo! You don't have to be an RC race fan. Events are open to the public. Come support St.Judes and have a ton of fun in Juniata County!! We CAN make a difference TOGETHER!
