For the past three years, Practical Nursing students have visited the Mid-Del Group Home, Inc. to spend time with participants and lead interactive educational sessions. More than just a learning experience, these visits provide students with a deeper understanding of what it means to serve, connect with, and care for others. The experience helps strengthen both their clinical skills and their compassion, reinforcing the human side of healthcare.
A special thank you to the Mid-Del Group Home for welcoming our students and allowing us to spend time with participants today. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn, connect, and share meaningful experiences together.

A Year Worth Celebrating at Mid-Del Technology Center

Shhh… can you hear that? It’s quiet, almost too quiet! Though the full-time daytime programs now sit empty, the fullness of this year gives us reason to reflect. To reflect on the growth, the opportunity, the hard work, and those moments that many will take with them from this place.

This year, we watched individuals find their passion, build confidence, earn industry certifications, and deepen their skills that will carry them far beyond their days at MDTC. The true success of this past year can not simply be measured in these achievements. It is found in each individual that stepped foot through our doors as they ventured into undiscovered territory and left with a new found purpose. It is found in the late nights perfecting a skill, preparing for certifications, last minute changes in contest preparation, industry visits, or stepping into the workforce for the first time. It is found in every moment where uncertainty evolved into a newly discovered sense of confidence.

We were also reminded how important community can be. A community consisting of instructors passionate about seeing each individual succeed, student advisors helping map the journey, leadership making sure they have the tools necessary to succeed, and industry connections dedicated to building an unstoppable workforce. This community gave students something invaluable, the chance to learn, to grow, and to be encouraged to take the next step on their journey.

Whether a SkillsUSA competition, industry certification earned, college credit opportunities, internships secured, or building a skillset that will carry them beyond, we celebrate each accomplishment with a sense of pride. We watched as students stepped into leadership roles with character, integrity, and a dedication to set the standard for those around them.

What makes Mid-Del Technology Center special has always been people. The instructors that pour out their hearts into teaching. It’s the staff members who greet and encourage each student. It’s the industry partners that believe in the mission of MDTC and the next generation of workforce that steps out. But most importantly, it’s the students who show up every day ready to learn, work, and grow. MDTC is proud of each one.

As we wrap the year and look forward to the next, the silence in the halls is temporary but preparation for the next year is already underway. This past year was more than a successful school year, it was proof that lives are transformed for the better, by design. Thank you for another great year at MDTC.

This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country, paving the way for the freedoms we enjoy today.

We also recognize the sacrifices often unseen, the parents, spouses, and children who carried the weight of service alongside them.

Today, we remember with gratitude. We honor with respect. We remain thankful for the cost of freedom.

Today, the classrooms and seats may be empty, but there were a few seats this past year that were never empty.

Perfect attendance is more than a dedication to learning. It’s a commitment to responsibility, consistency, and excellence. These are the qualities that not only help secure employment but also lead to long-term success in the workforce and in life.

While we recognized our completers this past Monday, we also want to celebrate a few outstanding students who achieved perfect attendance and who we are fortunate to have returning next year to continue their training:
• Destiny Alvarez – Cosmetology
• Iden Guitron – Cybersecurity
• Tayla Cosmo – Masonry
• Zackery Fisher – Auto Service
• Arturo Rojo Velasco – Auto Service

We also proudly recognize Elijah Cooks of Masonry as this year’s recipient of the “Pure Gold” Award. This award is presented to a student whose scholarship, character, integrity, leadership, and service best represent the purpose of career and technology education.

Congratulations to each of these students for setting the standard through their dedication and hard work.

Our industry partners are key to our students’ success. The opportunity to connect with professionals who guide, encourage, and inspire our students gives them a valuable edge as they prepare to enter the workforce.
Tim and his crew at Tims Body Worx recently dedicated a day to investing in our Auto Collision Repair students by providing a shop tour, sharing repair techniques, and giving students a firsthand look at what drives their success in the industry.
Thank you, Bodyworx, for investing in our students and helping shape the next generation of skilled professionals.
