The biggest mistake founders make isn’t having a bad idea.

It’s believing they need the perfect idea before they start.
The market doesn’t reward perfect ideas. It rewards founders who learn quickly.

Your first version isn’t supposed to impress everyone. It’s supposed to answer one question:
“Will someone actually use this?”

That’s what an MVP is designed to do.

One of the biggest misconceptions in tech is that everyone needs to learn how to code.
They don't.

Some people are called to build products.
Others are called to build businesses.
Neither is better than the other.

The key is knowing which one you are.
I've seen founders spend months trying to become developers when they should've been talking to customers.

I've also seen aspiring developers chase startup ideas when what they really loved was building software.

The fastest path to success starts with clarity.

That's why I created the Founder vs. Builder Quiz to help you stop guessing and start building the career or company you're actually meant to create.

Your business might not need more people. It might need better systems.

If your team is constantly switching between tools, repeating manual tasks, chasing information, or fixing avoidable mistakes, the problem may be happening behind the scenes.

That’s where technology consulting comes in.

At Vivify, we help businesses identify what’s slowing them down, clean up disconnected systems, and find smarter ways to get work done.

If you’re a founder wondering whether your business is actually ready for better systems, take our Founder Readiness Quiz.

Most founders think their first investment should be hiring a developer.
I think their first investment should be clarity.

The difference between a product that succeeds and one that burns through its budget usually isn't the quality of the code. it's the quality of the strategy behind it.

Before writing a single line of code, you should know:
Who you're building for.
What problem you're solving.
What your MVP actually needs.
How you'll know it's working.

That's the foundation every successful product is built on.

Building software isn't a single event, it's a process.
The strongest products follow a lifecycle:
Discovery & Strategy → Design → Development → Testing → Launch → Improve

The founders who understand this process ask better questions, make smarter investments, and avoid costly mistakes.

If you're building your first product, don't start with code. Start with clarity.

Every time a new technology emerges, people ask the same question: “Is this going to replace me?”

The better question is:
“How can I use this to become more valuable?”

AI isn’t just changing software.
It’s changing how we work, learn, build, and solve problems.

The people who succeed won’t necessarily be the most technical.
They’ll be the most adaptable.

Learn the technology.
Understand its strengths.
Recognize its limitations.
Then use it to amplify what only you can bring to the table.

Because your greatest competitive advantage has never been your ability to do repetitive work.
It’s your ability to think, create, lead, and solve meaningful problems.

Your MVP is not a feature list. It is a test: does this solve one real problem for a specific person?
Before investing more time, money, or energy into development, get clear on:
• Who has this problem?
• How are they solving it today?
• What is the one outcome Version 1 must deliver?
• What evidence tells you people will actually use or pay for it?
If a feature does not support that core outcome, it probably does not belong in your MVP yet.
The goal is not to launch perfect. The goal is product readiness: a validated problem, a focused first version, and a clear reason to build.

You don’t need to spend $50K to find out if your idea is good.

But you do need to do the work to find out if people actually need what you’re trying to build.

Before you start developing, branding, or building a website, you should know:

→ Who your target audience is
→ What problem they’re actually dealing with
→ Whether they see it as a real problem
→ Whether your solution addresses it
→ What they’re willing to pay for

Talk to your target audience. Run surveys. Do the research. Find ways to validate the idea before you make a major investment.

Because “people like my idea” and “people need this solution” are two very different things.

Product discovery helps you figure that out before you spend money building the wrong thing.

Should you start with a website, a web app, or a mobile app?

There isn’t one answer that works for every business.

A website is usually the starting point. It gives people somewhere to learn about your business, your product, and what you’re building.

But when it comes to your actual product, the decision between web and mobile should come after you understand your users, your features, and your budget.

And don’t build ten features just because you have ten ideas.

Do the research. Find out what your customers actually care about. If three features are the ones they consistently want, those might be the features you build first.

That’s your MVP.

The rest can come later.

You don’t need to build everything. You need to build what matters first.
