Hello, all! :)

First off, thanks and welcome to all my new watchers. I appreciate your interest, even as I have no availability for new art right now. Second, sorry for the long absence. The border remains closed, and we remain waiting for it to open. But fortunately, we remain healthy and safe from this ongoing covid pandemic, a couple of near-miss scares notwithstanding.

Things pretty much remain the same as they always have day-to-day, just without the going out part. And as you can probably imagine, as our son has grown into quite the active and curious and smart and entertaining little toddler/preschooler, so I have no more free time allowed for drawing now than when he was younger. But rest assured, the desire and intent is there. When I'm finally able to do new stuff, I will...and you'll see it here.

Until then, stay safe, stay well, and thanks for your interest! :)

Been a while so figured I'd give an update. Welp, looks like we're gonna be stuck Stateside for the foreseeable future. When the coronavirus outbreak hit fast and heavy and Canada and the US moved quickly to close the northern border, we were unable to escalate our emigration plans ahead of it. Originally, our departure was supposed to be April 24th (a date we set back in December), and I suppose it still is. But think everything will clear up and they'll reopen the border by then? We don't think so, either. So, we're stuck.

Michi was furloughed from her retail job a little over three weeks ago. At first, the company was going to keep her pay going, but after a week of that they decided against it until the (supposedly) 26th, so she's another of the 3+ million people out of work and out of pay. Still waiting on the documentation to begin the unemployment compensation process, and a good luck on that one since Ohio's UE system was never designed to handle this much of a crush of people.

As for me, I'm still pulling in my 40 at my work. Since my company was deemed an essential business, it's still open. But the activity in my department has slowed down so much, I can't help but wonder how much longer I can expect to keep coming in when I can finish everything and be done by lunch. We're getting no direction at all from the CEO; we're rather of the opinion that he's waiting to see what kind of a handout he can get from the Feds.

Our little Fuss-fuss is still as happy and entertaining a toddler as always, growing bigger and heavier and smarter and more independent by the day. While mommy and daddy worry about keeping pestilence out of our household, money in our bank account, and trying not to go insane with anxiety/exhaustion over it all (and with each other), he in his childhood innocence is completely oblivious to it all. Just wants to play and explore, especially outside now that the weather is finally turning.

Seeing how life is still pretty much same-old, same-old from my point of view, until I get furloughed time for new arts remains virtually nil. If my hours are cut, there's more than enough stuff to do around the house vis-a-vis housework, yardwork and work on Betty. On the latter especially I've had to scale back my spring pre-cruise-in continuous improvement initiatives that I do on that car every year. Whereas before I had plans on replacing her windshield or replacing her A/C compressor and restoring her ice-cold air, now looks like I'll be dropping that in favor of replacing her driver's door armrest, patching her front seat, restoring her body trim and sheet metal work since those materials are already in-hand and paid for. Somewhere in there will be new artwork and new cartoons. I am determined to see "April's Project" through to its conclusion.

Well, that's it for now. So far so good (and healthy and safe) with us. Hopefully all of you can be so as well. Laters! :-)

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since my last posting! I admit, every time I get a notification of someone liking or watching my humble page I greatly regret not being able to reciprocate by having any new stuff to share. But alas, such is the situation I find myself in anymore. I've been forced to put things on hold as I attend to my ongoing duties as father to our little Joey, who turns seven months on April 11. It would kill me that I couldn't get production started back up again, but I finally had to simply acquiesce and admit that I simply don't have the free time to draw like I used to, and accept that I'll never be able to turn out toons like I want to.

I do, however, remain extremely thankful and appreciative to every one of you guys for your interest, and when I'm able to release something, I certainly will. Until then, tho, maybe I should just post baby pictures and video instead. Here, have a little cuteness overload to enjoy the day with. :)

See you next time!

Hello, again!

I see that there are people still visiting my little corner of teh Facebooks, and for those folks I just wanted to say thank you very much! Regretfully, no - I don't have any new artwork to show you guys. As I wrote in my last post, Michelle was about six months pregnant with our first. Well, now she's nine, and with two weeks to go, it's all hands on deck as far as getting ready for the new arrival!

Art-wise, suffice it to say that I simply don't know when I'll be getting back to my drawing desk again. Right now my focus is getting ready for the birth. After that, who knows? Certainly I'll be taking some weeks off for paternity leave, but with a new baby I can't even begin to say what I'll be doing or when I'll be doing it, or even why with that down time (except for changing dirty diapers and seeing what it's like to function without sleep). But rest assured, I'll still commit pencil to paper when I'm able. It's just a matter of time.

Until then, thanks for visiting, thanks for the support, and see you next time! :)

Hey, all! :)

Been a while, hasn't it? Guess I've been quiet long enough and should let you know what's been going on and what the deal is with new artwork.

If you hadn't heard, we're expecting! Michelle's now up to nearly 28 weeks (a little over 6 months) into the pregnancy gig and GROWING! She has a small build to begin with, so this just makes her belly and b***s look even bigger than they otherwise would with someone of more average height. We just had an appointment with the OB today and things are coming along just fine. And thanks to our friend-family, our pending baby needs like furniture, clothing and the like - the godmother is even offering to deck out the nursery! - are coming along just fine as well.

Speaking of of autos, the Old Man And The Gun movie shoot with Betty didn't pan out, but I'm determined to get her fully restored and looking new before the baby comes. I have a network of car show pals who would be able to recommend someone, but getting together with those guys isn't nearly as it was in 2013 when we were probably at our most active, and so nailing a meeting time with that bodywork guy remains elusive. Instead, I'm thinking of joining the Buick Club of America and see if I can't build a whole new network of possible leads and friends that way.

Art-wise (since that's what you're here for, right?), I'm still trying to get back to my drawing table, and I'm hoping to actually do so this weekend if my stars align. Two things remain keeping me away: my job as a career wage slave for Corporate America (you spend most of your waking hours at work, if you work full time), and cleaning. I'm pretty much the one responsible for cleaning the house anyway (which takes up precious time on the weekends), and as Michelle gets bigger with baby and tires out more easily, I have to step up and take over more and more of the house duties, which in turn means even less time devoted to drawing. Savvy? But worry not - the intention is definitely there.

Until next time! :)

Hello, all!

Well, tis a new year now, and along with it, a new avatar pic. I hope everyone had an enjoyable couple of holidays. With the whole new year of 2017 in front of us, here's to hoping it's one filled with peace, happiness and prosperity! I see I have some new fans, so, thank you very much and I hope you enjoy yourself here. This new av was kind of a way to get back into the swing of drawing after being away from my desk for so long. More artwork is in the works. Production is kinda like traffic through road construction - expect long delays. But no worries, I'll get stuff done and released eventually. :)

09/29/2016

Hi, all!

I've started noticing more and more traffic to my page here, so figured I might as well check in to let people know I'm still active. For those who are new, thanks for stopping by! For those coming back, know that I actually have a few Critters things in various levels of completion. It's just that lack of free time that remains the holdup. But hey - if someone wants to pay me to stay home and draw all day (or do all our housecleaning on the weekends), you'll be amazed at how prolific I've suddenly become! Until then, unfortunately, I can only work on what time and opportunity will allow.

The next episode of Critters has been roughed out, although I'm a bit remiss in letting anyone know. How 'bout a preview...

Hey, all.

Just wanted to give a quick update that I was finally able to get into my FurAffinity.com account. Had one hell of a mess there in the way of an insane amount of stuff to sort through, but I'm almost done, and I'll be roughing out the next ep of Critters right after. Yay, vacation!! :)

06/03/2016

Hello, all!

Wow, I made it through the entire month of May without a single update! Not my personal best, but still...

Yeah, still busy with non-art stuff eating up my free time (especially on the weekends), but just wanted to give a head's-up about the only other, larger online repository for Critters cartoons and art, FurAffinity.net. For those who follow me both here and there, I'm one of those thousands of users who remain locked out of their own accounts because of FA's epic security breach...and subsequently epic fail in getting users access codes to back online...and have been for a week now. So, until I can get back online and clean up the mess that will no doubt be found there, look for all new stuff to appear here.

I had thought of simply taking out another account and starting over, but given the sheer number of FA users who still need account access responses, I might give it another few days - at least until after the weekend or when I have something new to share.

Course, in looking at the whole thing I really don't know what's sadder - the fact that it's taking this long in getting access to my account, or the fact that my art output is so ridiculously tiny that it makes the whole thing moot.

At ant rate, I have some stuff in mind to work on. Like always just need a good block of time with which to work on 'em.

Critters Question of the Week:
Q. What does the "YYA" stand for on Peter's shirt?

A. It's an acronym for a local electronic band, You, You're Awesome. Peter's T-shirt-shorts combo is pretty much the same one that I like to lounge in when the weather's warm. I'm also a fan of printed Tees, so when I went to adjust Peter's wardrobe I struggled to figure out what design I wanted to put on his shirt.

Right about that time I discovered the crazy-fun band that my friend, Yusef Quotah, had formed, and, wanting to support him and loving the bunny artwork designs he had for merchandising T-shirts, I finally found the simple design I was looking for.

For those curious, here is their website/blog: http://blog.youyoureawesome.com/

If you have the chance, I would HIGHLY recommend YYA. You don't just ATTEND one of their concerts. You EXPERIENCE them!

You, You're Awesome is a two-piece electronic band based in Cincinnati, OH, USA. Winner of 3 Cincinnati Entertainment Awards for Best Electronic Act.
