The crypto strategy of the month wasn’t the one with the biggest return.

I had Grok scan the last month of crypto strategies and rank them on return AND max drawdown. was up 15% with a 5.64% max drawdown. was up 26% with a 23.42% max drawdown.

Drawdown is the number nobody thinks about until they’re trading live with real money.

TradingView is hiding a button that automates your trades. Here’s how to find it and wire it up in 6 steps.

1. Hover your strategy’s name on the chart and click the three dots.

2. Click Add alert on your strategy and set the expiration to open-ended.

3. In Notifications, tick Webhook URL and paste AlphaInsider’s webhook link — it’s on the Connect to TradingView page.

4. Delete TradingView’s default message and paste AlphaInsider’s alert template in its place.

5. Create the strategy on AlphaInsider, then add its strategy ID, stock ID and API token to the template.

6. Forward test on paper, then connect a broker and hit Auto Trade.

Heads up: webhook alerts need a paid TradingView plan. The AlphaInsider side is free.

TradingView buried the one setting that actually places your trades for you.

Three dots on your strategy → Add Alert → check the webhook box → paste the URL. Every signal that fires gets sent out and executed, no manual clicking.

Here’s how to turn one sentence into a trading bot in 6 steps — no code, and no TradingView.

1. Go to alphainsider.com/resources and scroll to Connect AI Agent.

2. Copy the install prompt and paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or Grok. It installs the Strategy Creator skill on its own. On a web app, upload the ZIP through the skills menu instead.

3. Start a fresh chat and describe your trading idea in plain English. Typing works. Dictation works better.

4. Answer its questions. It turns your idea into exact rules and writes them to plan.md. Read it before you confirm.

5. Ask for a backtest. You’ll see the equity curve, the drawdown, and how it stacks up against just holding the index. (Mine lost to buy-and-hold. That’s the point of testing first.)

6. Create a key in Settings → Developers with the AI Agent preset. It paper trades on a schedule from there, and you can connect a broker once you trust it.

Here’s the install prompt so you don’t have to retype it:

Before you trust anyone’s trading results, check these 4 numbers. Most screenshots leave out at least one.

1. Trade count. How many trades is the record built on? At 33 trades, a 60% win rate is still within range of a coin flip. Small samples make luck look like skill.

2. Start date. When did it begin? One great quarter isn’t an edge, and a return with no start date tells you nothing.

3. Max drawdown. What was the worst drop along the way? Down 50% needs +100% just to get back to even. If nobody shows you this number, that’s your answer.

4. Was it ever traded live? A backtest is a claim about the past. A forward test, logged as it happens, is a result.

On AlphaInsider every public strategy shows all four, and trades are logged as they happen, so nobody can edit out the losers.

I asked an AI to trade McDonald’s off broken ice cream machines. It actually built it.

It asks you what a high broken rate means, runs the backtests, then publishes the strategy on AlphaInsider so anyone can verify every trade.

From there you set notifications or auto trade it through your own broker.

That trading idea you keep putting off? Start there.

In the video, we build a crypto momentum strategy designed to trade from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. You can start with your own idea.

1. Install AlphaInsider Strategy Creator. Go to AlphaInsider.com → API docs → Agent Skills for the installation directions for your supported AI platform.

2. Describe your strategy. Tell AI which crypto assets to trade, your entry and exit ideas, and trading hours. Answer its follow-up questions.

3. Let the installed skill guide the build. It tells your AI which questions to ask about your strategy. Answer them, confirm the plan, then build and test. Backtest when possible and observe incoming trades.

4. Combine your strategies. Use Auto Trade to add them to a bot connected to your broker. Choose strategies that behave differently.

5. Set allocations and leverage. Choose each strategy’s share of the bot and the leverage you’re comfortable using. More leverage increases exposure to losses too.

The strategy needs a working schedule or runtime. With that running and your broker connected, the bot executes its signals. Check in regularly and adjust when needed.
