CITIZENS OF AI
The Neighborhood is the New Campus. The Community is the New College.
Proximity to technology and innovation should never be the exclusive property of shiny tech hubs, corporate campuses, or newly constructed innovation districts. Long before the term smart city, neighborhoods were already functioning as trusted intelligence infrastructure. The churches, barbershops, coffee shops, and convenience stores. People have always gathered where they lived. The technology simply followed.
We are returning to that logic. And we are bringing AI to neighborhoods.
On July 30, 2026, Citizens of AI launched at The Congregation in Detroit’s Boston-Edison neighborhood, inside the 5th Council District.
Citizens of AI is a mix of mobility, culture, and technology. We have a non-traditional approach to technology. It is a reimagination of what the community college was always meant to be: accessible, local, and built around the lives people are already living rather than the credentials they are expected to hold before they can enter. The neighborhood is the new campus.
The community is the new college. And the mission is simple.
REBRANDX | The House of Intelligence have partnered with The Knight Foundation to make that mission real. We are Human Essential. Accelerated by AI. We are creating a human approach to AI. Together, we are embedding AI education, experiences, and creative intelligence directly into Detroit neighborhoods, beginning where trust is already established and creativity exists.
AI Micro-Credential Launched for Detroit Citizens
In partnership with DSDT College, Citizens of AI is offering an AI Fluency Micro-Credential: a tuition-free, four-week program designed for Detroit residents with no prior technology background required. The founding pilot cohort will consist of 25 participants. Applications are now open. Our goal is to one day offer all 649K Detroit residents the opportunity to receive AI micro-credentials that upskill, reskill, and impact workforce development.
