We always knew facial recognition was the least secure bio metric means of security. Retinal scans and finger print readers are far better in the grand scheme. However, to say that the FaceID would be safer they are actually not paying attention to past mistakes. Last time Apple claimed they were secured from viruses. The largest "Hoax" worm ever was released to Mac systems and they were proven to be wrong. This method could only be made secure via infrared imaging and facial recognition combined. By analyzing someones heat patterns you both assure the security and make it harder to mock using a face mask with no heat.
