The passage of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act is a milestone worth recognizing.
This legislation represents years of hard work and collaboration between lawmakers from both parties and both chambers of Congress. In an era when consensus can be difficult to achieve, a bipartisan, bicameral housing bill of this magnitude is something the housing industry should celebrate. 🎉

The law takes important steps toward addressing our nation's housing shortage by reducing regulatory barriers, modernizing housing programs, supporting local housing production, improving access to financing, and helping create more opportunities for homeownership. These are practical reforms aimed at increasing supply and improving affordability for American families. Equally important, this legislation sends a message that housing is not a partisan issue. Stable housing markets, attainable homeownership, and vibrant communities benefit everyone. When policymakers are willing to work together around shared goals, the result is stronger policy and greater confidence for builders, lenders, real estate professionals, and consumers alike.

The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act is not the end of the conversation on housing affordability, but it is a major step in the right direction—and a reminder that meaningful progress is possible when collaboration takes priority over politics. 👏🇺🇸

The Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Budget marks the fourth straight year Florida has reduced its budget. We have large reserves and a full rainy day fund—more than triple the size from when I took office. We’ve paid down historic debt instead of passing the burden to future generations.

The State of Florida has built a strong fiscal foundation because we manage taxpayers’ money responsibly. Florida’s per capita spending is one of the lowest in the nation. We have the fewest state employees per capita in the nation.

We’ve achieved high levels of fiscal responsibility while also reducing taxes and making historic investment in infrastructure, education and Everglades restoration. In short, it can be done!

Today was a great start to the HCC 2026, opening with important dialogue on what the industry is facing today. The session on rental housing reinforced just how much pressure the market is under. From supply challenges, to shifting demand, the data makes it clear that incremental changes will not be enough. The opportunity now is to rethink how we approach housing delivery to better align with today's realities.
