My journey started in a family of artists and musicians. From a young age, I was immersed in music, starting with church and school. I sang in choirs, performed in musicals, played in cover bands, and directed worship at churches for over 20 years. My passion for music took me around the globe on missions, bringing music and support to communities in need. I’ve always loved art, especially graphic

design. I started helping my dad with his ministry graphics at the age of 12 and later got into video editing and production for an independent film. This led to volunteering with other organizations and working in a print company’s design department after college. Prior to moving across the country to start medical school in 2017, I started writing my own songs, found a local recording studio to record them and released an EP. While in medical school, I continued to write music, released singles, and pursued my passion for design. In 2023, I began producing my own music and for other independent artists. Even while pursuing and completing my doctorate in naturopathic medicine, I never gave up on what makes me feel nourished and alive. Medical school taught me so much about the human body, listening, holding space, and collaborating on supportive solutions. I am grateful that from a young age and through my life experience, I was encouraged to think outside the box when it came to what I love, what I’m good at, what the world needs, and what can sustain me financially (think “Ikigai”!). Today, I blend all my skills — music, design, and a holistic approach toward living — to offer comprehensive services to bring your visions to life. Let’s create something amazing together!

INTRODUCING: RUTHIE & FRIENDS: A curated live music experience 🎶

An afternoon of community, and good vibes is coming to Bobazona Tempe, in honor of the newest addition to Bobazona Tempe's team - an amazing executive chef! ✨

This lineup is especially close to my heart. I’ve curated this group of artists from people I’ve had the joy of meeting, creating with, and getting to know over the years. Bringing different worlds and creative communities together is one of my favorite things, and I think you’re in for a special time.

There’s something really special about being an event host. I get to handle the promo, setup, transitions, the teardown, and do my best to make sure everyone knows their time and energy was appreciated. Watch til the end though to see me in my truest form 😅

I get to meet so many incredible people, hear their stories, discover new corners of community, and - one of my favorite things - bring different worlds together. Bringing folks together is truly one of my love languages.

And I’m always grateful when someone takes the time to capture me in my element: singing songs I love, hyping people up, and creating a little more joy in the room 🥹

When I need a pick-me-up, I go back to videos like this. They remind me of just how many blessings are woven into this life. They remind me that even when I mess up (like how I did with the lyrics here a few times LOL), there is still so much good and so much connection.

I love lifting people up. I enjoy celebrating people loudly. I get so excited to create spaces like this where people feel seen and encouraged. And sometimes, that looks like grabbing a mic and convincing a crowd of of folks to sing with me. 😂

I get to do this as a worship leader, and honestly? I bring that same energy with me to the open mics I get to host.

Because I’ve come to believe that church doesn’t necessarily have to look like Sunday morning.

Sometimes church looks like the third Wednesday night of the month, in the coolest queer-owned coffee shop, surrounded by strangers who become friends, sharing music, laughter, stories, and a little bit of ourselves.

Community is sacred. Music is sacred. Joy is sacred. And I’m really grateful I get to help create spaces where all three can exist together.

Mic & Muse this month was amazing! It is wild to see how much this event has grown in just a few months 🥲

We all come from different walks of life, but after last night it was clear to me that we share one of many things in common - and that is we want to feel heard. We all shared pieces of our stories and how that has influenced our art, music, spoken words… and I left the evening feeling so connected to myself and to each one of you in a special way (I may have sobbed on the way home). Thank you for showing up for yourselves and for one another 🙏🏼

Looking forward to continuing to see this event grow. Save the date for our next one (every 3rd Wednesday of the month), September 16th!

And as always - thank you to Brick Road Community for partnering with me to create an event like this for us. In a world full of chaos and heartbreak, spaces like this are needed more than ever. ✊🏼
