Congratulations to Bob Denny on being the recipient of the prestigious 2022 Hubble Award! He is being recognized for his contribution to astronomy and astrophotography with the origination of the ASCOM initiative, which has enabled various astronomy programs and instruments to communicate with each other through a common interface. This has changed the face of astronomy and contributed greatly to the automation of observatories.

Tune in tonight to the Global Star Party, the anniversary of Supernova 1987A. SN1987A was the first core-collapse supernova that modern astronomers were able to study in great detail. The program runs for several hours starting at 0100 UTC (6PM Mountain). I'll be a kibitzer and possible storyteller tonight. No formal presentation from me. Please note that the live stream info won't appear on the Explore Scientific Live page till an hour or two before the show. I'll post the direct YouTube link once the stream is online.
