We are excited to share that the IT Self-Efficacy Curriculum, developed by HERizon Technology founder Amari N. Wright, was recently implemented through the NextGen Boot Camp at Southwest Tennessee Community College.
On June 12, 2026, students participated in the IT Self-Efficacy Class, a course designed to strengthen confidence in technology, build digital readiness, and empower young people to explore opportunities in STEM. The class was taught by Camille Lee-Wright, Supervisor of IT Service Desk & Operations at MLGW, who brought industry experience and a passion for technology education into the classroom.
What makes this moment especially meaningful is that the curriculum originated from Amari’s AP Research study exploring ways to increase confidence and engagement in technology among young people. Through that research and the mission of HERizon Technology, the curriculum was created with one goal in mind, empowering the next generation to see themselves as capable, confident, and successful in technology.
The feedback from students and educators was overwhelmingly positive. Participants described the experience as engaging, informative, and empowering, while educators recognized the value of creating a supportive environment where students could strengthen their technical skills and self-confidence.
Thank you to Southwest Tennessee Community College, the NextGen Boot Camp, Camille Lee-Wright, and everyone who helped make this opportunity possible. We are excited to continue building pathways that empower young women and future innovators through technology.
