David Halford began building and tinkering with speakers as a teenager while growing up in Adrian, Michigan. Upon moving to Memphis in August of 1990 to attend Memphis College of Art, David soon began working at Speaker Services learning the trade of speaker repair under the tutelage of Glen Cammack. Many Advents, JBL's and EV's were saved. At the beginning of 2013 David opened up Halford Loudspe

akers, continuing on the tradition of top quality speaker repairs while adding the much needed aspect of a traditional stereo shop to the Mid-South. Along with this came the full time manufacturing of High End in house manufactured speakers. The idea being to offer the most esoteric audiophile grade speakers possible at "normal" speaker prices.

I just acquired this pair of Paradigm 9seMk3 as a trade-in. They are fully tested and ready to boogie at a new home. Thay are quite large at 36" high, 15" deep and 10 1/2" wide, and with dual 8" woofers they really move some air. Only $450 /Pair

I just created the perfect Electro-Voice EVM-15L and it's available for $200. I combined the latest bumped backplate magnet structure with the older 15" frame style. All the performance of an EVM-15L but 6 pounds lighter! (15 lbs. vs. 21 lbs.) This the finest 4 string bass speaker ever made, and with this lighter version someone might even want to put in a guitar cabinet. If you are really feeling gung-ho build an EV TL-606 cabinet for it and be amazed.

I will seldom offer modified classic speakers, but when I was offered an empty pair of rare mid-1970's KLH 354 cabinets with grilles and crossovers, I set about the task of putting them together. The key was tracking down some NOS Peerless tweeters, then the realization set in that no original woofers would ever be available. I set about running the parameters of every 8 ohm 11" woofer that would physically fit and one choice emerged that would embrace the acoustic suspension cabinet and efficiency. At that point with the woofer having a rubber edge, I chose the improved 80's version of the original midrange which also incorporated a rubber surround. The person who provided the enclosures gave me a magazine ad page from 1976 (from Penthouse...)
All this being said I'm selling them for $500 /pair which is far less than they would be worth if they were all original, but the performance & reliability is superior to what they were.

This Music Hall 5.3 is basically New Old Stock with no warranty. It had a bad motor speed control board straight out of the box and MH never shipped the repair part before the company changed hands and I stopped being a dealer for the line.
I have now acquired the part from Pro-Ject who built the complete turntable for Music Hall.
These currently sell for $1295, but this one is only $800. It comes mounted with an Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge with zero hours.
