Here’s a prime example of why drone deer recovery is so important. No pressure on the animal, no blowing out the woods, and a quick locating time. Rechecks can be just as important as the initial locate.
Back in November, before rifle season, Jorden located this buck with the drone. The deer was still alive with the arrow lodged in his side.
The following morning, the hunter went in to recover the deer, but it had moved out of the area. Instead of calling us back to relocate the deer, he waited until this week to walk the property again. Unfortunately, they ended up finding the buck floating in a pond.
Situations like this are exactly why we encourage hunters to call us back if a deer moves after the initial locate. A quick recheck can often save a lot of time and help ensure the animal is recovered properly.
Drone recovery isn’t about replacing hunting skills, it’s about using the best tools available to ethically recover the animals we pursue.
