If your laptop sounds like it is preparing for takeoff, do not ignore it forever.
Dust, blocked vents, aging thermal material, or a struggling fan can all make a computer run hotter than it should. Heat can slow the machine down and shorten the life of components over time.
Keep vents clear, avoid using laptops on blankets or soft furniture, and have persistent overheating checked.
Your computer should work hard. Its fan should not have to prove it.
