Hand Grok a PDF and ask it to summarize it.

1. Open Grok on the web or in the app.
2. In any chat, tap the plus icon next to the message box.
3. Pick your file. PDFs, Word documents and spreadsheets work.
4. Type: "Summarize this PDF in five bullet points. Then list any dates, prices, or deadlines."

Grok can make mistakes, so check dates and prices against the original.

Does that game really need to know where you are?

On iPhone you can check every app:
1. Open Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Location Services.
2. Tap an app.
3. Pick Never, or While Using the App.
4. Turn off Precise Location if the app only needs a rough idea.

Screenshot part of your Mac screen and paste it straight into an email.

1. Hold Control, Shift and Command, then press 4.
2. Drag the crosshair over the part you want.
3. Click in an email or note and press Command V.

Want a saved file instead? Leave out Control and it saves to your desktop. Shift, Command and 5 opens more options, including screen recording.

Search anything on your Android screen without leaving the app.

It is called Circle to Search, and it works on select Android phones, including Pixel 6 and newer.
1. Touch and hold the Home button, or the bar at the bottom if you use gestures.
2. Circle, highlight or tap the words or picture.
3. Read the results on the bottom half of the screen.
4. Swipe down to go back.

It may not work inside some apps, like banking apps.

Paste it into ChatGPT, Grok or Gemini first, then type what you want, like a quote, a letter or a plan:

"Before you answer, ask me up to 3 questions that would help you give a better answer. Then wait for my reply."

That way the AI asks for what it is missing instead of guessing.

A text says your package is stuck or you owe a toll? Do not tap anything.

The FTC says scammers use messages like these to rush you.
1. Do not reply and do not click the link.
2. If it might be real, contact the company using a phone number or website you already know.
3. Report it. On iPhone, tap Report Spam in Messages, or forward the text to 7726.
4. Delete it.

You can report it to the FTC too.

Type 3 letters and get your whole address.

Text Replacement is built into iPhone:
1. Open Settings, then General, then Keyboard.
2. Tap Text Replacement, then tap the plus button.
3. Put the full text in Phrase, like your address or business hours.
4. Put a short shortcut in Shortcut, like addr.
5. Save it.

Now type the shortcut and your phone offers the full text. Apple's own example is omw for On my way.
