TECH TIP TUESDAY!!!

Every open tab uses RAM, even the ones you forgot about. Chrome and Edge can put idle tabs to sleep and free it up.

Chrome: Settings (Three dots top right) - Performance - Memory Saver (on).
Note: returning to a tab reloads it so you may lose unsaved form data or scroll position.

Edge: Settings (Three dots top right) - System and performance - Automatically put tabs to sleep (on).
Edge usually wakes tabs without a full reload.

Not a miracle, but if you keep a lot of tabs open, you'll notice smoother performance especially on lower-RAM machines.

Amazon makes buying easy. Knowing if you're overpaying? Not so easy.

CamelCamelCamel is a site that tracks price history across billions of Amazon products — charts, deal alerts, and availability data — so you can see whether to buy now, wait, or look elsewhere. Browser extension and mobile app included.

Before your next office purchase (or personal one), check the price history. A 30-second look can save real money.

CamelCamelCamel may be worth bookmarking.

TECH TIP TUESDAY!!!

When shopping online, who doesn't check out the reviews to see how good the product is, or if there has been any shipping issues? Did you know that some of those reviews can actually be fake? In 2022, Amazon blocked over 200 million suspected fake reviews alone. Now with AI, reviews are even easier to create and harder to spot.

Here are some tips that might be helpful for when you are purchasing that next online item.

- Reviewer profile: One review only? No other purchase history? Suspicious.
- Timing: A sudden burst of 5-star reviews in a short window = likely coordinated.
- Content: Generic praise with no specific product details; identical or near-identical phrasing across reviews; extreme sentiment
(all 5-star or all 1-star).
- Images: Fake reviewers sometimes reuse the same product photos.
- Network patterns: Products with many shared reviewers across unrelated items often indicate a fake-review ring.
- Tools: Null Fake, FakeFind, and SureVett offer AI-based review analysis.

Keep these tips in mind the next time you are checking out that product you want to purchase online, and make sure those reviews are legitimate before adding to cart!

TECH TIP TUESDAY!!!

By now I'm sure you've dabbled in using some AI platform, but do you know how to really use AI to get the most from it?

The first thing is you must not treat AI like you would a Google search. Think of AI like an executive assistant or a real person. You wouldn't ask a real person a very basic or generic question and hope for a great result right? Here is an example:

Instead of asking AI to "Write me an email to a prospect from our webinar."

Say something like "You are a senior account manager at a B2B firm. Write me a 150 word follow up email to a prospect who attended our webinar on cost reduction but hasn't responded in 5 days. Make the tone professional but not pushy. Include one specific reference to the webinar's ROI calculator."

Being more clear, concise, and detail oriented will always produce better results. Remember you can ask AI follow up questions to the results it provides just like you would a real person. You don't need to be satisfied with the first result. Keep working until it produces something you are satisfied with.

TECH TIP TUESDAY!!!

Just a little quick tip today about your docking station. Did you know that some docking stations have an extended power button for your laptop?

What that means is that you don't need to open your laptop lid to power it on before you connect the dock or close the lid. You can keep your lid of your laptop closed and just hit the power button on the top of the docking station and that will power on your laptop.

Mind blown!!!!

TECH TIP TUESDAY!!!

Have you restarted your device?

Ahh the question us IT professionals always feel bad asking, but it fixes so many issues. Rebooting your devices clears the memory out and gives the device a fresh start. Try getting into the habit of at least rebooting your devices weekly. This would include your phones and tablets.

So before you get ready to call IT support, reboot that device first and see if that fixes it. Your devices will thank you...and so will your IT department! :)
