On May 1st of 2026 (05/01/26) our labor rates will be changing.
Residential labor will rise from $35/hour to $50/hour, but the minimum charge will remain the same at $35.
Any work/tickets that take less than an hour of labor will incur the minimum charge.
Any open tickets/projects started before this date will be honored at the lower rate.
Business / Commercial labor rate will not change, but Business accounts will take priority over Residential accounts.
​A new labor tier will be added for rush/emergency labor services. Price yet to be determined.
Travel fees will increase from $15 per half-hour of travel to $20 per half hour of travel. Milage charge follows IRS Standard Rate.

We have some exciting new updates and news for the near future! We now have full texting capabilities on our main number (717-850-7034). Before, we could only receive texts in certain circumstances and could not text back. This has been resolved with our carrier and we can now send and receive SMS and MMS with anyone.

We are also actively updating our website with up to date services we offer and other useful pages. We are still actively working on this... and have a big project to announce very soon...

Hello everyone. This is Larkin again. This will be my last update on my health. I was in the office last week and was able to work on a few tickets, but I am almost back to 100% this week and am rolling through work. If you have any tickets/devices with Shearer IT, expect updates here this week. For anyone awaiting camera installs, I still have a pretty decent-sized bruise with a hematoma on my side where I was given anti-clotting shots. As soon as it heals up, I will be making calls to get everyone's installs scheduled. Again, thank you all for your patience and understanding through this.

Hello Everyone, this is Larkin again. I wanted to send out an update to keep everyone in the loop of what is going on. I was incapacitated with a viral infection for a week and a half before I was taken over to Chambersburg hospital where I had a stay for almost two weeks. I was unable to speak, eat, or drink anything during this time and had to be given nutrition and fluids though IV. The staff and doctors were wonderful and took fantastic care of me during this time and I was released on the 12th to go home. I still have a bit of recovery to do, but I am hoping to get back into the office this coming week and hit the ground running. Thank you all for your patience through this ordeal. I look forward to getting back to work and reconnecting with you all as soon as I am able.

Hello Everyone, this is Larkin Shearer. For the past week and a half I've had a terrible viral infection that has left me incapable of speech most days, and has sent me to the Emergency Room twice. I know that there were projects that I was in the middle of or you may be waiting to hear from an update from me on any open tickets you may have. I give my most sinecure apologies for these delays and as soon as I am able to return to work, I will do so picking up exactly where I left off. Thank You.

Please be aware of a pop-up / redirect scam that has been more prevalent recently. While browsing the web or clicking on links, you may get to a page that looks like one of the images in this post. These scams employ many different tactics to scare or panic you into clicking on something or calling the fake support number they provide. There may be "floating" boxes and loud audio/sound playing telling you not to shutdown or restart your computer or data loss will happen. This is all NOT TRUE. As long as you do not click on anything or call the number, most likely nothing has happened to your computer. Make sure you do not click on any of the fake windows and close the tab you are currently on, or close your web browser entirely. To ensure these types of pop-ups do not occur, consider utilizing an anti-malware that employs web protection (such as Sophos Home https://prf.hn/l/ZYg2RA8 [Affiliate Link]) or use an extension for your browser (such as Malwarebytes Browser Guard for Google Chrome https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/malwarebytes-browser-guar/ihcjicgdanjaechkgeegckofjjedodee?utm_source=chrome-ntp-icon [Not Affiliated]) that blocks malicious sites like these.
