Small business week again. It is sad to see how every year we lose more small businesses and small farmers and the business goes to large corporations and on line sales. Shop your local hardware and lumber stores. buy from local greenhouses and tree suppliers. Keep all the local businesses going that you can. Who wouldn't like to have a Nodaway ham or processed meats? But it's gone....
If you shop in St. Joseph or Kansas City the taxes you pay support those cities. We still have some wonderful businesses in Maryville. I love the service at Wilmes tire, Delbert's garage, Beemer muffler, Florea radiator, Maryville glass and lock, Maryville outdoor, Saunders body shop, Pitzenberger auto body and so many more great small companies. Go to church and thank God for salvation and for being born in the most free country of opportunity in our world. God bless you and America.

What a blast of winter! But this is Missouri it will be nice in a day or so. Stay safe! And if you need a washer or dishwasher, keep in mind that most are factory tested. That means do not try and transport them long distances in below freezing temps.

Christmas is upon us! First remember why we celebrate Christmas, the birth of mankind's Savior. Second say a prayer for all who are having a hard time in this life, whether from health, poverty, or lack of hope. Third help anyone out that you can, we all have needed help in the past, pass on that help to others. Third if you need a present for someone shop local, many local stores wold love your business and they live and bank in our community. Lastly Virginia and I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a great relationship with Jesus.

Our telephone service has been through brightspeed, it has been non-funtional for nearly a week. We have called and get no answer or all circuits are busy. We will be changing to a different carrier as fast as we can. We are sorry for the problem but we cannot get any service from the "local" phone company.

I am posting this so people can know. If you have a touch free stainless steel appliance, READ you manual!!! Several times in the last month people have called in saying their finish looks awful and is streaked and dull. In the manual it says very plainly "Do not use cleaners on the touch free surface!! This is to be cleaned only with a very weak mild solution of dish soap or better yet just a damp towel followed by a dry one. If you ruin the finish it is obvious and the manufacturer will not replace the panels. They are very expensive to buy.
