The year was 1997. This was the FIRST "In-Car Video" system installed in this REGION.

We installed this VHS Tape system that seemed revolutionary at the time and IT WORKED! The system was activated with the lights and included a "HI-FI" wireless mic for the officer. A game changer for this "Traffic Car" running radar back in '97.

The year was 1999. We had just finished a mobile data project of installing laptops in police vehicles. This was a major undertaking back then. No cell modems--all RADIO. We used dedicated radio channels and DataRadio modem equipment. And yes, IT WORKED! This system was used until 2014 when we upgraded them to cellular.

What makes it all work? "Pressing the Button" to talk is the simplest part of any radio system; as it should be. Lots of infrastructure runs in the background to make things easier for the user. When things go wrong, and they WILL go wrong, it takes training and expertise to get the situation back to normal. This type of service and support is not provided by AI. Thousands of engineers, technicians, and support staff work 24/7 to make sure these systems stay up and running.
