JUGGLING EIGHT BOOK DESIGN JOBS RIGHT NOW... including one that is an offset smyth-sewn HC with dust jacket and two color photo page signatures (with partial run being leatherbound w/ gold foil stamp), another HC with color tip-in pages that is shipping from Shenzhen as I write this and another smyth-sewn HC with color photo signatures in typesetting and design, and the balance as POD paperbacks in states from design prelims to final approvals.
If it wasn't for time tracking and prioritization, I wouldn't be able to know what was coming or going. Below is a snapshot of a typical day... I use Google Sheets to record time against various jobs, which auto-calculates totals for each project in columns by week as well as a monthly total (and then aggregate totals on a separate tab). This helps me weight efforts toward priority items to keep everything moving toward their deadlines.
How do you juggle your chainsaws?
