“紙の専門商社・竹尾が主催する「Takeo Paper Show 50『祝と礼』」に、クリエイターとして参加します。企画・構成は原研哉さんと日本デザインセンター原デザイン研究所。今回は作家の朝吹真理子さんと作品をつくっています。紙に触れると、やりたいことが際立ってきます。
I’m participating as one of the creators in TAKEO PAPER SHOW 50, organized by TAKEO, Japan’s leading specialty paper company. The exhibition is conceived and directed by Kenya Hara and the Hara Design Institute at Nippon Design Center. For this exhibition, I’m creating a new piece in collaboration with novelist Mariko Asabuki. Whenever I touch paper, what I want to create comes into focus.

来年3月に開催される空水空芸術祭の舞台となる、成田市、印西市、栄町を訪れた。企画チームの方々と土地を歩き、話を聞く。現場へ来ると、資料だけでは見えてこなかったものが見えてくる。現場を見るというのは、その土地の空気を身体に入れることなのかもしれない。来年の春、この場所からどんな風景が生まれるのだろうか。
I recently visited Narita, Inzai, and Sakae—the places that will host the Sora Mizu Ku Art Festival next March. Walking the sites with the project team and listening to their stories brought the project into focus in a way that no document ever could.
Visiting a place is more than seeing it. It is about absorbing its atmosphere, its rhythm, and the subtle qualities that can’t be captured on paper.
I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of landscape will emerge from this place next spring.

空水空芸術祭のポスターが刷り上がった。色もタイポグラフィも美しい仕上がり。デジタルの納品物が増えた中で、紙にインクがのり、手に取れるかたちになる瞬間には、やはり特別な高揚感がある。
The posters for the Sora Mizu Ku Art Festival have finally come off the press. The colors and typography turned out beautifully. At a time when more and more creative work is delivered digitally, there's still a special excitement in seeing ink on paper and holding the finished piece in your hands.

野村不動産が進める東京のウォーターフロント開発「BLUE FRONT SHIBAURA」のアイデンティフィケーションを担当しています。東京を知ったつもりになっていましたが、この街がこれほど海に近いことを、これまで意識したことはありませんでした。ニューヨークやロンドン、コペンハーゲンなど、世界には魅力的なウォーターフロント開発が数多くありますが、東京ならではの水辺のある豊かな時間を、この場所から提案できればと思っています。運行を開始する専用船にも乗せていただきました。海から眺める東京は、陸から見慣れた街とはまったく異なる表情を見せます。そして、槇文彦さんの建築は、空と海を映す鏡のように、その風景を静かに受け止めていました。

I traveled to Sanya, Hainan Island, in southern China to review the signage mockups on site.
We spent six hours carefully inspecting every detail while battling the intense heat and humidity of the subtropical climate.
I was worried that someone might suffer from heat exhaustion, but everyone pushed through and did an incredible job.
At the end of a long day, a stunning sunset over Sanya was the perfect reward.
サインサンプルの現場確認のため、
中国南部は海南島の三亜へ。
亜熱帯気候の茹だるような暑さと湿度と格闘しながら、
6時間かけて、ひとつひとつじっくり確認していきました。
みんな熱中症にならないか心配でしたが、
綺麗な夕焼けが最高のご褒美になりました。
