This is the kinda thing which inspires me to keep going. I’m an ignorance-killer, and there’s plenty of it out there.
Neighbor had an ambulance visit s/p inhalation brush fire smoke.
Ironically, she is also healthcare provider…retired wound care nurse.
Anyhow, she was dizzy and “having a little trouble breathing.” She even asked the crew for a touch of oxygen.
Of course, maybe this is an example of a far more difficult problem…
Lazy?
Complacent?
Uncaring?
Didn’t care enough to advise her accurately?
And no, (per her report to me—I was not a witness) she got no advice on s/s indicating a need for additional evaluation.
And we wonder why our profession is in precisely this same place it has been for at least the 25 years I’ve been involved in it.🤦♀️
And, yes, my experience gives me a bias. Is there some other possibility I’m not considering?
