I’m always looking for ways to automate tasks in the studio. In this case, I have configured an Arduino to control eight relays and I’m controlling that Arduino over Wi-Fi with the Stream Deck. This uses HTTP gets to send commands to the Arduino to turn the relays off and on. Such as http://10.0.0.210/relay1on.

Some telecom history

While walking along the South West Coast Path in Cornwall located in the southwest corner of the UK I toured the Global Telecommunications Museum in Porthcurno. In 1870 the first undersea telegraph cable was connected a hut on the beach in Porthcurno and India. This location was the center of research and development, as well as training for the entire British empire.

It was very interesting to see the equipment and hear the stories of those the pioneered telecommunications.

Don’t use the channel Adapter and a patch cord when testing a permanent link with the DSX CableAnalyzer. Doing so could get your test results rejected. Be sure to use the permanent link adapter.

The IEEE tells us 10GBASE-T is limited to 55 meters over Cat 6. However, in one of my other videos I was able to run a throughput test over more than 90 meters with no loss. Here I’m testing the same cable with the DSX CableAnalyzer using the 10GBASE-T test limit and PoE limit.
