Our main tower in Hartville is down this morning; it is likely caused by lightning early this morning, but we have to climb the tower to find out for sure and begin repairing it. We will do this once lightning exits the area.

This morning's outage turned out to have a very unusual cause... a nest of flying squirrels! They were nesting INSIDE a pole our upstream fiber circuit was attached to, chewed into a bundle of fiber optic strands, and managed to cut the two strands our service relies on, without hitting any other active strands. We're thankful for a quick response from our upstream fiber provider!

Our upstream fiber provider has confirmed an issue with the fiber strands feeding our network head end, and are working to find undamaged fiber strands to switch us over to while they further investigate the damage. We have not been given an ETA for a repair at this time, but are hopeful it will be resolved within a few hours.

We have been troubleshooting the cause of this morning's outage, and at this point we suspect there is a physical problem with the fiber circuit that connects us (and all our customers!) to the internet. The fiber issue is likely at Mansfield, and our upstream fiber provider has a tech en route to find the problem. We apologize for the downtime on our service!

Our upstream fiber provider has completed their repair, and everything looks good with the service again as far as we can see. Please let us know if you're still having trouble with your Ridgetop Networks service!

Ridgetop Networks service has had intermittent outages for all customers since shortly before 8:30am this morning. We believe there is a problem with our upstream fiber circuit connecting us to the internet, and our upstream fiber provider is investigating. We're sorry for the problems with the service, and we'll update you when we believe it's been resolved!
