Quick question 👀

Who actually owns cybersecurity at your company?

A 2026 survey from a leading cybersecurity vendor found that 84% of small business owners self-manage security - and 28% say the person responsible isn’t adequately trained.

In a lot of businesses, security isn’t someone’s job.

It’s just one more thing on someone’s list. 😬

And that works.

Until it doesn’t.

If this sounds a little too relatable, send us a DM 📩

Your office manager needed to reinstall Zoom. 🔍

She searched, clicked the first result, and downloaded it. It installed normally. Zoom opened. Nothing looked wrong.

By the next morning, someone else was inside your network. ⚠️

The result she clicked was an ad, sitting one line above the real site, pointing to a perfect copy of the download page. The software worked. The malware came bundled with it.

That's malvertising, and it targets the most normal thing your team does: looking something up and clicking the top result.

The fix is almost boring. Scroll past the ads, go to the official site, and type addresses you know by hand.

The most dangerous download is the one that looks exactly right.

The records you're holding onto could become your biggest liability 👀

Every old file, email, and customer record you keep is one more thing a breach can expose. Data you no longer need still carries all the risk and none of the value.

Holding data too long works against you by:

✅ Expanding what an attacker can steal in a single breach
✅ Creating compliance exposure for records you were never required to keep
✅ Turning routine cleanup into a legal question during audits or lawsuits

If it isn't stored, it can't be stolen, subpoenaed, or leaked.

Set a clear retention policy, then automatically archive or delete data once it's past its useful life.

Cyber insurance renewal shouldn’t be the moment you discover gaps in your security. 🔐

Before the questionnaire arrives, take a few minutes to review the basics:

✔️ Confirm MFA is enabled for all users, especially administrators
✔️ Make sure backups are current, protected, and regularly tested
✔️ Review who has admin access and remove anything unnecessary
✔️ Check that endpoint protection is active on every device
✔️ Update your incident response plan and key contact information

A little preparation now can help prevent delays, coverage issues, and last-minute stress later.

That free browser extension your employee installed last month - do you know what it can access? 🔍

Most people don't think twice before adding one. But browser extensions can read everything happening in your browser: passwords, banking portals, client data, open tabs. All of it.

And here's the part that catches most businesses off guard: extensions can run completely clean for months, then turn malicious overnight through a silent automatic update. No warning. No prompt. It just changes.

Fake AI-themed extensions alone were downloaded hundreds of thousands of times from official stores last year - many with glowing reviews and "featured" badges.

Take two minutes today to open your browser's extension list and remove anything you don't recognize or haven't touched in months. Then ask your IT team if there's an approval policy in place.

What's running inside your browser deserves the same scrutiny as anything else on your network.

If you're concerned about your cybersecurity posture, send us a DM. We'd be happy to book an assessment.

Everyone’s talking about AI, but what can it actually do for your business? 💰

For many small businesses, the biggest wins aren’t flashy. They come from saving time on everyday tasks like invoicing, scheduling, customer follow-ups, data entry, and inventory management.

According to 2026 data, 68% of small businesses now use AI regularly. Many are saving between $500 and $2,000 per month, while gaining back more than 20 hours of work time each week.

The key is not trying to use AI everywhere at once.

Start with one repetitive or time-consuming process. Measure the impact. Then build from there.

AI isn’t about replacing your team. It’s about giving them more time to focus on the work that actually needs a human.

Everyone’s talking about AI, but for most small businesses, the real question is pretty simple:

Is this actually going to save us time or money? 💰

According to new 2026 data, 68% of U.S. small businesses now use AI tools regularly. On average, they’re saving $500 to $2,000 per month and recovering 20+ hours of work time each week. SMBs adopting AI are also seeing revenue grow 3.5x faster than businesses that haven’t made the move.

But the biggest wins usually aren’t coming from flashy, complicated use cases.

They’re coming from the everyday tasks that quietly eat up time:

→ Invoicing, scheduling, follow-ups, and data entry
→ Inventory, operations, and repetitive admin work
→ Internal workflows where small delays and mistakes add up fast

That’s where AI can make a very real difference.

The catch is that most businesses don’t see ROI when they jump in without a plan. Buying tools first and figuring out the strategy later usually leads to more confusion, not more efficiency.

A better place to start?

Pick one process. Measure the time or cost savings. Then expand from there.

AI doesn’t replace your team. It gives them more time to focus on the work that actually needs a human.

Dentrix stops supporting Windows 10 in four days. Most dental practices aren't ready. Microsoft ended Windows 10 support in October 2025. Henry Schein One has now confirmed that after June 30, 2026, Dentrix won't support new installations on Windows 10 workstations.

That means any Windows 10 machine running Dentrix is now sitting on three problems at once:

🦷 An OS collecting unpatched security vulnerabilities with no fix coming

⚠️ A documented HIPAA compliance gap on every chair-side workstation

🔒 One failed reinstall away from having no supported path back to Dentrix

Not every machine can upgrade in place either. Windows 11 requires TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot - hardware from before 2019 often can't make the jump without full replacement. The time to act isn't June 30. It's now.

Windows 10 support ended eight months ago... and a surprising number of businesses are still running it. 🖥️

If you've been putting off upgrading because "everything still works," you're definitely not alone. But here's the problem: Microsoft isn't fixing new security vulnerabilities anymore, which means every new one discovered is another risk that won't be patched.

Insurance: Unsupported operating systems can complicate - or even invalidate - cyber insurance claims.

Compliance: Running an unsupported OS can create issues for organizations subject to standards like HIPAA, PCI DSS, or SOC 2.

The Clock Is Ticking: Microsoft's Extended Security Updates are only a temporary bridge, and that program ends in October 2026.

If you still have Windows 10 devices in your environment, now's a good time to take inventory and build a migration plan. It's a much easier conversation to have now than after a security incident.

Not sure where your organization stands? Let's talk.
