I’ve just published a blog post that digs into the evolving landscape of software integration. We’re at the cusp of a transition from the traditional API model to AI-driven interfaces.

Imagine a future where applications—and even we, as users—communicate with software in natural language rather than through rigid API endpoints. I explore what this future might look like, how it could work, and the potential benefits and challenges involved.

If you’re interested in where software is headed and how AI might redefine it, please read and let me know what you think.

Would love to hear your thoughts!

As we look ahead to the evolution of how people and machines communicate with software, it’s clear that artificial intelligence (AI) will play a key role. One prediction I make is the transit…

As a technologist who's spent years working at the helm of digital innovation at places like The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, I've long believed in the power of technology to shape our world. So when my friend and fellow World Economic ForumYGL alumna, Marietje Schaake (Marietje In Europa), wrote "The Tech Coup: How to Save Democracy from Silicon Valley," I was intrigued – and a bit skeptical.
After all, I'm the guy who thinks engineers should rule the world (only half-joking 😉). But here's the plot twist: I found this book absolutely essential reading for anyone in tech, policy, or frankly, anyone who uses a smartphone.
Schaake delivers a powerful wake-up call about the unchecked power of tech companies and the urgent need to realign technology with democratic values. While I may not agree with every proposal, her insights are invaluable and her arguments compelling.
Whether you're a tech enthusiast who worships at the altar of AI or a concerned citizen worried about digital privacy, this book will challenge your assumptions and broaden your perspective.
I've written a full review of "The Tech Coup," diving deeper into why I believe this book is so crucial for our times. Check it out here: https://rajiv.com/blog/2024/09/25/the-tech-coup-a-crucial-wake-up-call-for-the-digital-age/
Let's start a conversation: How do we balance technological innovation with democratic oversight? I'm eager to hear your thoughts!

In her groundbreaking book, “The Tech Coup: How to Save Democracy from Silicon Valley,” Marietje Schaake delivers a powerful and urgent message that resonates deeply with anyone concern…

Read this to find out why you shouldn't uncritically delegate your work to AI.

"A healthy dose of skepticism is useful as we integrate AI more deeply into our lives."

You need to understand AI and know how to leverage it to help you and when not to!

"The competition for a humans is not AI, but other humans using AI to augment their own capabilities."

P.S. My preference for the word "uncritically" over blindly doesn't suggest that I'm an AI.

Last night, my 12-year-old son and I were engrossed in solving math puzzles on TED Ed via YouTube, sometimes collaboratively and sometimes competing with each other. My son and I enjoy playing toge…

Risk-taking in business: Is it all it's cracked up to be? In my recent article, I dive into why chasing 'high risk, high reward' might not be the best strategy. Drawing on insights from thought leaders like Michele Wucker and Clark Gilbert, I explore how focusing on value creation could lead to more sustainable success. Curious to hear your experiences with risk and reward in your career or business. Check it out and let's discuss:

As someone who’s spent years in the trenches of entrepreneurship and corporate leadership, I’ve had my fair share of encounters with the age-old mantra: “high risk, high reward.” It’s a catchy phrase, isn’t it? It’s been drilled into our collective psyche, leading many of us to believe...

Is the 'always-on' work mentality actually counterproductive? My recent article dives into the science behind productivity, mindfulness, and the power of being present. It might change how you approach your workday. Check it out and share your thoughts:

As a longtime CTO and Chief Product Officer, I’ve seen firsthand the toll that constant work can take on individuals and teams. Many of us in the tech industry wear our long hours as a badge of honor, believing that being available 24/7 is the key to success. But here’s the truth: it’s not. In...

Ever struggle with daily quick check-in meetings? I built a tool that uses AI to make team syncs smoother and more engaging. It generates custom messages, follows up with team members, and keeps messages organized in Slack threads. Check it out and let me know what you think:
