From concept to global success.

In 2023, Redline Infrastructure, a South African technology company specializing in industrial wireless communications and mining connectivity solutions, approached Poynting Antennas with a vision: to develop a purpose-built antenna solution for the Rajant Cardinal platform, designed to meet the demanding requirements of mining and industrial mesh networking environments.

What followed was a remarkable journey of innovation and collaboration. Redline played a key role throughout the entire development lifecycle—from the initial concept design and engineering discussions, through prototype testing in South Africa, and finally to extensive production validation on a major copper mining operation in Zambia during 2024.

The production testing phase was conducted in close collaboration with the Sales Director at Rajant Corporation, accompanied Redline on-site at the mine to evaluate real-world performance and ensure the solution met the demanding requirements of mission-critical Kinetic Mesh deployments.

The result was the EPNT-7 antenna, a product that has since become part of Poynting's global portfolio and is now being deployed worldwide. The EPNT-7 has received strong recognition from Rajant Corporation and is helping customers achieve greater performance and reliability in challenging industrial environments.

What began as an idea from a South African company serving the African mining sector has evolved into a globally deployed solution, demonstrating the power of collaboration between industry leaders across engineering, wireless networking, and mining technology.
