The End of Undetectable AI Writing? Claude Adds a Hidden Signature

Anthropic is embedding invisible watermarks into text from supported Claude models and adding signed provenance data to generated files. The markers are designed to travel with content when it is copied, pasted, or lightly edited.

The technology could help publishers, schools, and online platforms trace AI-processed material, but it cannot definitively prove authorship. A watermark may survive minor changes, while extensive rewriting can make it disappear.
