🚨 Cybersecurity Alert: 4th of July Weekend 🚨
As we head into the holiday, we want to make sure our clients and friends stay safe online. The 4th of July is one of the top holidays hackers target — second only to Christmas — because so many people are away and distracted.
Please keep the following in mind:
🔒 Watch for phishing emails of any kind, especially ones claiming you need to reset or change a password.
🔒 Don't click links or attachments in emails unless you've personally talked to or called the sender to confirm it's legitimate.
🔒 Be skeptical of unsolicited calls. Microsoft, QuickBooks, and other major companies will never call you out of the blue about a "problem" with your account or computer.
🔒 Only trust IT support calls from a voice you recognize — and when in doubt, double-check even those.
🔒 Never let anyone remote into your computer unless you've verified exactly who they are.
💡 Best practice: If you won't be using your computer, power it down completely over the weekend.
