How do you bring the real world into a virtual space without making things incredibly complicated?

In our latest article, specialist web engineer James Edgeworth shares how we integrated Google Earth’s data into OKO.

Instead of forcing our whole system to adapt to a massive digital globe, we flipped the script: we built the space first and moved the globe to sit perfectly underneath it. By doing this, we kept things simple across different platforms like Unity and Unreal Engine, fixed visual seams where the 3D puzzle pieces connect, and made sure everything lines up nicely with our 2D maps.

Through this partnership, innovators will get supported access to OKO, our spatial intelligence platform built for creating and running Connected Spaces – cross-reality environments that work smoothly across platforms and devices. It’s a practical solution to one of the industry’s biggest headaches: interoperability.
