Clear liquid leaking from furnace exhaust pipe
I went to change my furnace filter and saw a small puddle. It is coming from the pipe in the first pic which I am 99% sure is the exhaust. In the second pic the part leaking is connected to the pipe on the right.

Just purchased home in June so just started running heat consistently the past couple weeks and just noticed this today. The liquid looks to be clear and is slowly leaking. All research I've done indicates this could lead to carbon monoxide build up so I've turned off unit and made sure carbon monoxide alarm in basement is functioning.

Wanted to gauge potential solutions before calling HVAC company out to take a look. Is this something that might've been improperly installed and just needs corrected, sealed, or slope part replaced altogether?

Any input would be appreciated!

AC is not kicking on.
EDIT- was definitely not testing correctly. Thanks for all the feedback. Made separate post rather that trying to reply to all. Thanks again. Definitely need to brush up on some basics electrical troubleshooting.

Thought I fixed the issue last week. I replaced the contactor and she started working.

Does this indicate that the contactor is stuck and engaged? Thermostat is off. So it’s not drawing for cold air.

Other pic now shows that the thermostat is sending 28v to the contactor when I switch the AC on at the thermostat….but nothing.

I checked the capacitor already, it’s within spec.

The board is showing a blinking DS2 light.

Any thoughts?

New furnace install. Any visible issues?

New here! - Unit 12 Years Old - Recharged in May - Repair, Recharge, or Replace?
Moved into house in March. AC froze up on us in April so we had two HVAC companies come out.

Company #1 concerns: Dirty blower wheel and refrigerant leak. Static pressure fail: “ Both Supply and Return Air are needing to be addressed”
Option’s given:
1.) $435 - first pound of R410A
2.) $850 - Leak test and first pound refrigerant
3.) $1,710 - Blower Wheel & motor service with leak test and refrigerant
4.) $2,150 Easy start kit w/relay + everything above

Company #2 Much more straightforward and said it’s just low on refrigerant. Obviously pointed out there’s a leak in the system but we would get by for now with recharging.

May 4th - We went with company 2 and added 1 pound 14 ounces of R410A for $360 (total included their service call). AC worked great all summer long.

Now October came along and our system froze up on us again during our last heat wave…

What advice do you have for me?

Do we look at topping off refrigerant again in the spring?? My only concern is having it freeze up on us in peak summer heat, having an emergency call, and being without ac for maybe a week.

Do we look at repairing this 12 year old unit?

Or do we look at replacing it? What would be an estimated replacement cost for a similar unit? Our house is ranch style, 3,200 square feet in Kansas.

If we go replacement route is it better to do before the end of year (deals on end of year inventory) or replace in the Spring?

Any and all advice appreciated!!!

No heat, Trane E3.2 code
We had this issue from previous post fixed last year (inducer replaced as well I believe) but just went to turn on our heat again for Fall and heat doesn’t seem to be turning on with auto fan.

Did a power reset and no luck. Nothing seems to be blocking the outside vents.

The Trane is throwing an E3.2 alternating with Ht2; blower works on manual ON; no heat after one power reset. Is this likely a condensate-drain backup, an exhaust/inducer fan problem, or pressure-switch tubing or switch trouble? Any idea range of cost to fix?

Staple up heating, hot water not not circulating.
I'm a DIY and love learning how install, build or fix studd. I hate playing a ton of money for contractors unless I absolutely don't have the confidence that I can accomplish something. After months of research, I decided I'm comfortable that I can install a staple up underfloor radiant system at my cabin.

I ordered a prefabricated system and installed it with a Rinnai tankless combi boiler and sweated all the pipes myself. The tankless runs on propane. I installed the boiler and have been using it for domestic hot water for months with no problem but now that the heating system is done but currently only 3 out of 8 zones stapled, I up wanted to give it a test run.

No leaks and everything holds pressure. The problem I'm having is that the hot water is not circulating and the pipes are hot for the first two feet of both central heating hot water out and cold water return and the gas stops firing up. Any ideas?

Sorry the bad picture. My crawlspace has a low ceiling and I don't have much space in front of the boiler.

Is this gonna burn my house down?
I know you can't really see much in the pics attached, But I replaced the thermocouple in my furnace. Now it seems to be burning like crazy. I don't remember the flames this high, and you can hear the roar all through the house.

Thanks for the comments everyone, you people here are fast! I have shut it off. We have mini-splits we use for a/c, never used them for heat before but that will do for us until a pro can look at it. We also have friends and in-laws we can crash with if we get a big freeze.

Is this dangerous or concerning ?
I bought this home a few years ago and I noticed there used to be duct tape right on this hole where the heat comes from.

Do I need to put another piece of tape on this? Why would this hole be covered? I have a gas furnace with an electric heat pump.

No Heat from HVAC/Gas - but AC works fine
Hey all, probably a dumb question here, but looking for a quick sanity check before I do anything.

I'm a renter with a Goodman HVAC system (Model CHPF2430B6CB). We've never had any issues with it, and the AC has been working great. We recently had our first cooler day, so I decided to test the heat. The system kicks on, and I hear a clicking sound shortly afterward, but we're not getting any heat from the vents. Tried the AC again and everything working fine.

I was a little baffled and couldn't figure out what was going on for a while until I looked and happened to see the gas supply valve to the furnace is in the OFF position (again this may be a really dumb question)

I'm assuming this is likely the issue and that turning the gas supply back on would resolve it. What has me confused is that I never turned it off. Our landlord has a maintenance guy come out every July for a routine HVAC tune-up, so I'm wondering if he shut it off during that visit and accidentally left it off. He indicated at the time that everything looked great, was working properly, and there were no issues at all and good to go. It's why I didn't even think of that being a possibility at first.

If this were my house, I'd probably just turn the valve back on, turn on the nest, and see if it works. However, since I'm renting and it's someone else's property, I wanted to get a sanity check before touching anything. Does the valve being off/clicking noise track with supply off. Anything I should know or be aware of before turning on a gas valve since it's been closed since the summer? Better to let a pro or tech handle it?
