Eternal Research presents the Rite of the Demon:
Summer, an evening of collaborative experimentation between dancers, sonic artists and ancient oracles, live scored by LA’s Fierra Ex Machina. The night features a Quadraphonic performance by electronic music pioneer and Sonic Oracle Suzanne Ciani. This multimedia event melds sound and vision in a cutting-edge transmedia retelling of the Oracle of Delphi’s origin: the powers of embodied vision.

The Rite of the Demon Summer, June 20th at San Francisco’s featuring a quad performance by Sonic Oracle Suzanne Ciani. We are honored to have her part of this Year of the Demon show, where we perform a live scored dance retelling of the origins of the Oracle of Delphi—live-scored by Eternal Research’s ensemble Fierra Ex Machina. We will use various versions of the demon box, as well as the demon viola, demon harp, and demon bells. This is a story from a time when Demons were creative spirits that guided. Processions is the album I made early on when the demon box was still a wooden box. It’s a walk through the forests of night, the shadowy streets of a nocturnal city; a movement through exile to an embodied purging of the senses. I used many instruments I built and some I found, a piano harp, an old plow blade, artillery shells and springs. It’s it about finding the voice in a thing and letting it sing. Recorded at Marcata Studio in New Paltz over 5 days with only the engineer Kevin Mcmahon and Racoons in the walls. Link in bio. .s.mcmahon

Sunday we anoint this year The Year of the Demon with our Rite of the Demon:Spring show.
We are so excited for what we are going to present to you, a story of the origins of vision through the oracle of Delphi’s story. Live scored by our group Fierra Ex Machina ( ) with special performances by .dama and our company of dancers. Our largest shipment of Demon Boxes yet, going out too Kickstarter backers. Our Bastet will protect them in their journey through the afterlife. We hope the quantum doors they’ll open will make this Year of the Demon a memorable one. Also we are at this Sunday for our Rite of the Demon: Spring live scores dance retelling of the Oracle of Delphi origin story.
