Minimising the risk of outages ❗

Nowadays we face the risk of failures on a daily basis. To make ourselves safe from certain errors in software, we should do a better software testing.

Cloud performance testing ☁

We need it to receive messages, share docs, watch films or store files online… cloud computing is making it all possible. So the strength of cloud computing security barrier is important.

The following practices will help decrease the risks of load testing with the cloud

1️⃣ Two-Stage Process
With the two-stage process, you don’t have to wait for the application to be accessible from the Internet to test it. This lowers costs.

2️⃣ Data Security
Encrypt the communication between your controller and load generators. This helps secure data sent to the load generators during the test as well as the retrieved data.

3️⃣ Several Cloud Providers
Firstly, it helps to perform tests from different geographical regions. Secondly, it’s more scalable. Thirdly, it detects potential network issues at the cloud provider level.

4️⃣ Monitor the Servers
The info should be gathered during the test by monitoring each component of the infrastructure. This enables us to correlate the response time and errors generated by load testing with the monitored data, and to track down the problems cause quickly.

Load testing requires additional planning and communication. A proper plan for load and security testing should always be available to avoid the risks.
