🦒🦥🦩🐒🦓🐘🐍🦏 It’s National Wildlife Day… so naturally, we’re letting the animals take over the feed.
For Life of Pi, we had the incredible opportunity to collaborate closely with director Ang Lee on an opening title sequence that introduces us to Pi’s world before his extraordinary journey begins.
And what a world it is.
Set inside his family’s zoo in Pondicherry, the sequence wanders through a lush, dreamlike menagerie where giraffes peek through the trees, sloths take their time, flamingos strut, monkeys cause trouble, elephants roam, and seemingly every corner reveals another creature.
Working with Ang, we wanted the titles to do more than simply introduce the film’s credits. The idea was to capture the wonder, curiosity and discovery at the heart of Pi’s childhood — allowing us to experience this extraordinary world through his eyes.
The credits themselves become part of that discovery, integrated into signs, architecture, shadows, reflections and objects throughout the zoo, so the typography feels like it belongs within Pi’s world rather than sitting on top of it.
Beautiful. Mysterious. Sometimes funny. Sometimes dangerous. And always worthy of a closer look.
So in honor of , we’re revisiting one of the wildest casts we’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.
Swipe to meet the animals. 🐾
