Los Angeles Metro AEYC Week of the Young Child
Young children in Los Angeles deserve the best that we can give them. April 14 – 20 is the Week of the Young Child™ . The theme for WOYC 2013 is: Early Years Are Learning Years®
During the week, Los Angeles Metro AEYC will focus on getting the message out about the importance of meeting the developmental milestones for young children.
Our goal is to raise public awareness about the developmental milestones for children 0-8 and to educate the parents, educators and the communities. Developmental milestones are a set of functional skills or age-specific tasks that most children can do at a certain age range.
Those milestones are social/emotional, cognitive, gross and fine motor skills. In honor of the week of the Young Child, Los Angeles Metro AEYC will share a developmental milestones checklist with parents and educators.
Developmental milestones Checklist Parents and educators can visit this site to receivehttp://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/actearly/pdf/parents_pdfs/mo-wic-broch_2_english_508.pdf These are just a few of many important milestones to look for.
